Obama to supporters: We won, GOP caved

President Obama took time out to film a video for supporters, thanking them for pushing Congress to raise taxes and declaring victory in the fiscal-cliff standoff.

"Just recently, Republicans in Congress said they'd never agree to raise tax rates on the wealthiest Americans. We’ve now raised those rates, permanently, making our tax code more progressive than it’s been in decades,” he says.

The last time I saw a rout on the house majority party like this
was when Reagan routed Tip O’Neils Democratic house.
However, Reagan did it by going directly to the people.
This bunch just folds. And quickly.

No way for Romney? No way!!!

The only thing sadder than gloating dems is sour grapes RINOs. Nobody likes RINO faggots. That's why they lose.

"President Obama took time out to film a video for supporters,"...supporters who will be too dumb to notice that their own 2013 paychecks are also smaller -- that is, those rare Obama supporters who actually get paychecks.

But if the elite 1% of earners will be inconvenienced a little and need to take time away from their work to phone their tax lawyers, I suppose it's worth it to Obama.

The Republicans? Well history will not be as hard on them as their contemporaries. Given the political realities ( A President and majority Senate absolutely determined to raise taxes and make no spending cuts), they actually did not do that badly. Obama? Events have a way of overtaking glitz, pomposity and poor policy. There is no real economic recovery and America is facing a real economic decline due to his deficit spending, high taxes and virulently anti capitalist EPA and other administrative agencies. He can howl at Bush and blame Republicans all he wants but now owns both the economic and foreign policy debacles

$400k is pretty rarefied air, probably around the 98% percentile for income. Zero and the 'rats need to go for the median income earner, as Willie Sutton so famously said, "because that's where the money is".

The people Reagan went to, aren’t there anymore.

At least, not in sufficient numbers.

30 years is a generation ago.

When you add fraud and disillusionment, its too late.

Did I mention the lack of courage and character and leadership?

While I loathe the DC GOP in the main, this deal isn't as bad as it seems. 99.4% of Americans now have W's tax cuts made permanent. Hence, Grover Norquist has given it his blessing. Gone now is the "GOP only protects the rich" meme which is a battle that could not be won. Now the only issue is spending cuts which most Americans agree with. The cut portion of the sequestration is alive and well and cutting is the only issue along with the debt ceiling.

Now if Bonehead and the GOP cave there, I am done.

Whereas they then completely forgot about the victims of Hurricane Sandy, the ones they promised to aid back when there was an election going on.Guess waiting on the government wasn’t such a good idea.

I don't think so. He is the "magic ne***". He doesn't get blamed for anything and never will. Someone else is always the bogey man and 50%+ of the voters and presstitutes swallow all his crap as quickly as he can dish it out.

Hopefully, you are right. I tend to think that who constitutes the rich will be steadily expanded to include practically anyone who has a job in the private sector. The low information voters plus the public sector outnumber have rival numbers to those who have private sector jobs and will cheer on the erosion of the "geese that lay the golden eggs". The issue is far from being settled. Obama implied as much last night.

Do you know the word democrats invoke after a failed tax increase? The word is BIPARTISAN, works like a charm every time and magically transfers the blame entirely to the republicans.

The GOP may have lost politically. They never had a chance according to the majority that agreed with Obama. But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to pay any more taxes this year than last. Capital Strike.

I can’t wait until the obama worshipers starve to death. The only downside is that they do not have the intelligence to realize that they brought on their own demise.
