The GOP's Anti-Muslim Wing Is In Retreat (BARF ALERT)
Mother Jones ^ | 3 Jan 12 | By Tim Murphy and Adam Serwer

Over the last four years, a die-hard cadre of activists and their allies in Congress have dragged the Republican Party into a fever swamp of Islamophobia and barely-concealed anti-Muslim bigotry. In their paranoid scenario, Islamic Shariah law is creeping into American courts; the Department of Justice has come under the sway of the Muslim Brotherhood; and the president’s engagement ring includes secret writing that indicates Muslim loyalties.

But after a November election that saw three of the party's loudest voices on "creeping Shariah" defeated—and the GOP presidential nominee ignore the issue entirely—the anti-Islam movement within the Republican party may have peaked. Wary of further alienating a once-promising conservative constituency, mainstream Republican leaders have sought, publicly and behind closed doors, to distance themselves from the loudest of the Muslim-bashers in their midst.

"They have gotten a bit of bad odor," says GOP powerbroker Grover Norquist, who has pushed to change his party's tone on Islam.

A turning point came in July, when Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), along with four Republican colleagues, signed a letter demanding an investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood's supposed infiltration of the State Department.

Norquist, who runs the influential group Americans for Tax Reform, says that following the letter controversy, "We have heard back from a bunch of Hill staffers—'We are keeping our guy away from Gaffney and those guys, they're crazy.'"

Anyone talking about the PRO-TERRORIST wing of the Dem Party?

No mention of Jihadi Terrorists on American soil!

There is no speculation about association or motive.
These folks known associations, stated, and written motivations are clear.

I gave Mother Jones subscriptions for Christmas a few years ago. What fun, and cheap ¢¢¢!
Most thought they would be put on a commie list! Some tried to cancel but could not stop it!

If you are not prepared to make your opponents argument, it is difficult to defend your position.

There's a quote to remember for the Norksucker hero worshipers.

I guess they not only forgot 9/11, but completely missed that whole thing in Benghazi.

Who are we at war with? Nobody knows. All that matters is that the perpetual war continues against someone, somewhere, for reasons nobody dares say.

Take a peek around Europe and watch what the Muslims are doing there.

We who they call Islamophobic are only pointing out what is happening while they stupidly ignore it. When they wake up they will be under the Islamic boot.

A distinction without a difference.

Islam sucks. Islam kills. Islam destroys. Islam contaminates all that it touches.

There is no upside to Islam. None.

Questions?

When I see liberalism holding hands with Islam, it reminds me of Pontius Pilate becoming friends with Herod in putting Christ to death.

Well....Pilate didn’t really hate Jesus & was only trying to defuse the Sanhedrin. His wife warned him not to get Jesus’ blood on his hands so Pilate bailed out. His friendship with Tetrarch Herod was strictly tactical to help keep the peace in Palestine.

Liberals & muzzies have formed a pact of pure evil. Their intent is to harm & kill their opponents and they are armed with cruel hate.

You would expect nothing less from the site that makes DU look sane by comparison. I do not understand this jumble of nonsense and Stockholm Syndrome.

Only eleven years after Islam sounded its call to battle to The West, the question (which I first asked years ago) should be:

Who’s winning?

Phobias: MedlinePlus

www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/phobias.html

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder. It is a strong, irrational fear of something that poses little or no actual danger.

We are not islamophobic, the danger IS REAL!
