CARY, N.C. —

Some teachers in North Carolina are signing up for classes to carry concealed guns.

It comes in the wake of the mass school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

A combat center in Cary started offering free gun training courses after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The gun center said so many teachers are signing up that there’s now a waiting list.

“Ever since we posted that we’re offering free classes for teachers, we’ve been absolutely crushed, inundated. Teachers want to learn about firearms,” said Molotov Mitchell of Triangle Krav Maga.

Somehow I don’t find it very shocking that people are signing up for a service that normally costs over $100 when it is free. Call me a cynic.

No doubt there are teachers who are passing on it because they are hoplophobes, but not every teacher is irrational.

But they’ll still vote the D ticket that wants to take gun rights away.

Even the NRA is guilty of going with voting history rather than underlying principles when discerning candidates to support with dollars. WV’s Joe Manchin is the current case in point for that.

It is encouraging when the MSM is pushing the idea that the idea is insanity.

It shows that the MSM is not able to control the narrative.

Now we need to convice the polls in DC that they no longer need to take their marching orders from the MSM.

Of course. They always have some form of rationalization for their BS.

Had to listen to some acquaintance last night lecture me on the evil plans of the GOP to institute a Theocracy.

That seems to be the general bent of Lefites these days. They can’t actually defend Democrat policies since they are so obviously intellectually bankrupt, so they go out on a riff about the social conservatives ruining everything.

I made a point during the discussion that Romney was not particularly socially conservative, so I got an earful about him being an ‘ultra-capitalist’. There is always some excuse to avoid admitting “I want free stuff”.

Might have some benefits in the sense it will turn a number teachers from their left wing orientation towards the right especially in regards to CCWs.

Here’s something show your friends that fear theocracy about what the nation was founded on. When I was in college this theocracy ‘argument’ had me convinced that we would lose our freedoms to bible pounders. It is a common way for the left to train people to hate the GOP. I wish I had heard this side of the argument back then.

This is a great video showing the deep religious past of our nation and leaders. For example, Thomas Jefferson ordered the Marine corps band to play for the church services held each Sunday in the capital building! Services were held there for almost 100 years.

This is only a clip there is a full DVD you can buy on the wallbuilders.com site.

Here in South Carolina, the Tar Heel State is generally regarded as Commieland.

We offer Asheville, UNC-Chapel Hill, & the NC governor as proof.

But compared to the northeast or west coast, it would be viewed, (NC) as conservative.

I've been an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor for just a bit longer than I've been a professional educator -- just shy of 25 years, now, as a firearms instructor. In that time, I have taught a whole lot of educators to safely handle firearms, mostly for their FL concealed weapons permit. They all approach me like it's some kind of stereotypical drug deal. Furtive glances all around, tippy toe up and whisper: "Hey can you teach me to shoot? SSSSSHHHHHHH, don't tell anybody!" LOL

The folks I trained, I would not have any problems with carrying ccw in school. The others I know that are former military, many with combat experience, likewise, I'd have no issues with them carrying concealed. But the vast majority of teachers in my district, the 4th largest district in the nation should NOT be given access to any firearms under any circumstances. They'd be more of a danger, themselves. The issue is mostly mindset. They're classic sheep, and nothing of the stuff of sheepdogs.

The easy, simple, and obvious solution to this is to let them self select. Volunteers only.
