Clinton soars, Palin plummets in most-admired survey
http://news.yahoo.com ^ | 01/03/2013 | National Constitution Center

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sets a record in Gallup’s annual most-admired survey, while Sarah Palin falls farther off the popularity radar.

Gallup has run its most-admired man and woman survey since World War II, and in the 2012 edition, Clinton and President Barack Obama kept their top positions among those asked a simple question: “What man that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most? And who is your second choice?”

Clinton was named as most-admired woman for the 17th time since she became a national figure in 1992. Eleanor Roosevelt held the previous record when she was named 13 times as the most-admired woman.

In 2012, Palin had just 2 percent of the polling, finishing in a fifth-place tie. Clinton had 21 percent, followed by First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Condoleezza Rice.

LOLS!

Sarah Palin: The Most important irrelevant figure in America today.

She is so un-important that Yahoo and Gallup have to write stories about her to generate hits to their pathetic web sites.

That is a Wonderful Picture of Sarah Onyx!

I like the Picture of Sarah laughing you have better. It is not such a close up shot.

Remember Sarah is NOT important ;)

And we must discuss in detail how unimportant she is.

So, don’t confuse popularity with being “right”.

That's OK, while you were asleep, Palin gave us our only Senate pick up, and gave us Ted Cruz, all in all, two very important successes to some of us.

I can think of several reasons, in no particular order:

- Name recognition
- Safe, socially acceptable choice (perception driven by the media)
- Choosing "the strong horse"
- Recognizing Santa

Palin is fine.

Really?

As you point out, she's not in the news and in not power. She quit her last office and declined to run for the presidency.

Avoiding the presidential race on her resume was probably a good thing, but Palin needs to get back into the game if she wants to remain relevant.

Maybe she should consider running for the Democrat Senate seat coming up in 2014?

Then we'll know for sure if she's fine or not.

Funny, Palin is tied with our last GOP president and last GOP nominee, all with 2% each, in this silly poll.

A couple of has-been Republicans come in at 1% (Paul and McCain), but funny, I don’t see a single other prospective 2016 nominee—Rubio, Christie, Ryan, etc.—even reaching the 1% mark.

Nope.

You're damn right "We're done!" as long as freedom lovers and freedom warriors in America fail to look past the headlines and the story and see how average Americans on yahoo are responding to this!! I only read the first two pages of first-arriving comments, and sentiment was EASILY five to one against liberalism, EASILY five to one of folks who think pretty much the way we think on FR, that Clinton and liberalism stink and that the media is biased.

And YOU still think liberals aren't the minority??? WAKE THE HELL UP and start reading beyond FR.

Conservatives who think, "We're done!!! Most Americans are children who voted for Santa Claus! Most Americans are idiots and leeches who want socialism!" are A BIGGER part of the problem than the liberals, for crying out loud!!!

Anybody who preaches the gospel that most Americans are stupid losers and socialists, should move to France, because as long as they stay here, the are part of the problem. START HAVING MORE FAITH IN YOUR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN and stop letting yourself be stupidly bamboozled by the MSM, for the love of God!

Palin had absolutely nothing to do with Cruz winning. Not one Texan voted for him because she endorsed him. Also, Perry promptly told her to get the heck out of Texas and stay out of Texas politics...After he said that, he then went to at least three states to endorse candidates there.

Before the election in my delusion and belief from several sources that Romney would win the election, I’d have said bullshit to this poll. Not now.

Today at the tail end of the Boortz show (who I actually can’t stand but was a captive listener) there was a black lady, Monica (yes, I can tell when someone is black when speaking - it’s racist, get the hell over it).

She said she was calling to tell Boortz he was right about all the “leeches”. Only her leeches were rich people who stole from her and her sisters and brothers by not paying their taxes, forcing Monica and the bruthas to pay rich man’s tax bills.... I rest my case.

Because you say so? Or, do you have links to back up your *statements*?

I don't recall reading/hearing anywhere that Perry told Palin to get out of Texas. I do, however, recall Palin bringing out a crowd for a Perry rally.
