Politico is a junk news site run by nitwits.
On the other hand, we went from a sure-thing Boehner resignation, with almost 2 dozen conservatives voting against him, to 9 votes against him, and a re-election.
Anybody could have reported that Boehner would have some people vote against him. People were mad at him — Pelosi didn’t get all the votes from her caucus either.
You don’t get to say the speaker is going to be dethroned, and then claim that you got the story part-right because some people tried to dethrone him.
The story wasn’t that people would try — the story was whether they would succeed. And in that, they were wrong — at first.
