(CNSNews.com) – In an interview on Thursday with National Public Radio, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that many Republicans do not “believe in government.”
"There are many members in the Republican caucus who do not believe in government,” Pelosi said in an interview with NPR’s Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep. “And bless their hearts, they act upon their beliefs.
“So day to day, we vote here on issues that eliminate government initiatives for clean air, clean water, food safety, public safety, public education, public transportation, public housing, public health, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security.
"They don't believe in a public role,” Pelosi said. “And if you don't believe in a public role, then why do you even have to have taxes to pay for it? ... They're anti-government ideologues, and that's what the speaker has to deal with."
Pelosi also had praise for the “Grand Old Party,” which she said has made “enormous contributions to the success of our country,” but that the party has changed to be one that wants to destroy government.
“While we may argue about the size of government, the Republican Party has not been a party that says, 'I want to destroy government,” Pelosi said.
She said Republicans should “take back your party.”
“The country needs more than one-party dominance, as much as I believe the Democratic Party is the party for the middle class. ... We need to have a marketplace of ideas,” Pelosi said.
Calling it the least-important question Inskeep asked during the interview, Pelosi would not say if she believed she would become speaker of the House again.
Most Republicrats are NOT conservatives anymore. Rather they've morphed into 'moderates' (today's meaning: stands for nothing) and will vote whichever way the wind blows the money into their pockets.
I, personally, have grown to despise this evil government whose business is to wreck our nation, its economy and our personal lives.
By definition...anything “reported” on National Public Radio is propaganda. They are the MSNBC of the radio airwaves.
Want proof? Tune in at the top of any hour and listen to their “news”. Whatever is going on...it’s women and minorities most affected.

Like the idea of a smaller, Constitutional government? I have yet to meet a Conservative who has the same views as an anarchist. Not even Ron Paul wants "no government. I would love a government with finite and enumerated powers.
I hate to be unkind, but I have a nagging suspicion that Nancy is not always truthful. There, I said it.
Because these are all FAILED programs and need to be eliminated, Nancy.
This old, dried up , botoxed, hag, has totally lost her mind. The biggest problem is that she should be working on the Block in Baltimore with the rest of the old B-girls instead of on Capitol Hill;.

Pelosi says stuff like this to purposely rattle Republicans. She says they don't believe in government to try to get them to line up on TV and radio and praise their love for government.

I think she used to work on “the block”, frankly would not surprise me. My friends from B town tell me she was a nut before she moved to Cal. I believe her dad was a former Mayor of Baltimore who had less than a stellar background of integrity.
Exactly what I was thinking. Don't forget to throw in those 'rules for radicals' too. We are in a political war with these dang dems. It's time to fight fire with fire.
