White House weighs broad gun-control agenda in wake of Newtown shootings
The Washington Post ^ | Saturday 5 January 2013 | Philip Rucker

The White House is weighing a far broader and more comprehensive approach to curbing the nation’s gun violence than simply reinstating an expired ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition, according to multiple people involved in the administration’s discussions.

A working group led by Vice President Biden is seriously considering measures backed by key law enforcement leaders that would require universal background checks for firearm buyers, track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database, strengthen mental health checks, and stiffen penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors, the sources said.

So the Obama Syndicate is seeking to infringe on the law-abiding citizen's right to bear arms. When does the action of a crazed kid give the right of government to infringe on our Constitutionally protected rights? Answer: Never.

I think it is fine for the government to weigh broads and control their guns just so long as they leave mine alone.I can think of a few broads they can start with like Hillary, Feinstein, Boxer, Sanchez, just to name a few.

(yawn)
None of this crap will happen.
Only when the political scum get serious will there be any real “reform”. That means JAILING anybody who carries a gun in the commission of a robbery for a minimum of, say, 5 years. No probation, no parole, no longer ever to be allowed to own a gun.

Leave regular people alone and spank criminals hard. That’s the only viable - - and fair - - way to address gun violence.

“No probation, no parole, no longer ever to be allowed to own a gun.”

A person has a right not to be killed. That means he has a right to carry a gun.

Even felons cannot be denied their God-given right not to be killed, unless their crime carries the death penalty.

You want to impress us? try taking guns from the inner city gangbangers and drug gangs across the US. I THOUGHT SO! So we can only assume that the “new” gun ban/grab is for the law abiding citizen because it is a threat to thier existance, plain and simply put!

Obama’s advisers have calculated that the longer they wait, the more distance there is from the Newtown massacre and the greater the risk that the bipartisan political will to tackle gun violence will dissipate . . . gun-control advocates are growing impatient with a legislative process that is just beginning . . . “As we get involved in these ad nauseam debates over the Second Amendment, our children are still at risk,” said Jon Adler, national president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association. “Debating is not the action verb we need to protect our children.” . . . Adler, who has submitted recommendations to Biden’s group, said he has told administration officials that they need to pursue multiple measures to increase their chances of success. “We can’t put all our protection-effort eggs in one basket with one piece of legislation,” he said. “We’ve got to do more than that.”

Translation: We've need a legislative tsunami to overwhelm the public and use the great opportunity of them dead kids. Hurry, hurry.. the next time may be a car or truck running over 20-30 kids in the school yard. Who cares about that? We can't us those dead kids and people will forget the dead kids we need. Hurry up!

White House Plans To Overwhelm NRA With Rapid Victory

Benjy Sarlin January 4, 2013, 4:04 PM 91416

The White House and gun control supporters are gearing up for a whirlwind month, with plans to pass reform legislation before outrage over the Sandy Hook massacre has a chance to fade.

While the fiscal cliff has dominated Washington’s attention in recent weeks, lawmakers and activists are laying the groundwork for their big push. Vice President Joe Biden, tasked with heading a commission to investigate gun violence, has been quietly meeting with experts, interest groups, and public officials and is expected to release a set of recommendations within weeks. Boston mayor Thomas Menino, co-chair of Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, told the Boston Herald this week that an optimistic Biden had assured him that Obama would sign legislation “by the end of January.”

“We had been led to believe their report would come by end of January, but we’re hearing they may want to have something out by January 15, even quicker than expected,” Mark Glaze, director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, told TPM.
