You know that Scripture instructs you not to privately interpret Scripture don't you?
The answer is no.
Are the coins in your pocket actually solid?
Good luck to Lou, just not tonight against my beloved Tide. Roll Tide!!
“You know that Scripture instructs you not to privately interpret Scripture don’t you?”
Actually, it does not say that. Read the context.
It drives me nuts to hear Catholics getting all into the ‘fairness’ nonsense, when it comes to homosexuals and women in the priesthood. They think that since they’re so much more ‘compassionate’ to those groups, they are more like Jesus. They have just lost all reason and sense, in my opinion, because they’ve completely forgotten about sin.
Why would you deny yourself the blessings of the Eucharist, because of the fallen human nature of some of the priests in the Church. THEY aren’t bothered about you, why should you bother about them?
My position as well. The day I hear an apology from ND, asking for forgiveness for this tragic event, will be the day I return to the Catholic Church.
Come on home ConservativeInPA, Read the Daily Readings (everyday), Read the CCC, understand the Canon Law and learn apologetics...I love the RCC. I am very fortunate to attend a more traditional parish in West Point, VA....we are not a Liberation Theology “Banner” parish. We are one of the few parishes in my area that still has a Crucifix.
Jesus said His church will grow through Peter. After Christ’s death the early Christians were already divided. For Peter, you had to be a Jew ( monotheistic) before you become Christian. He was the leader of the Jewish Christians. Paul believed you didnt have to be a jew before you become Christian.therefore he taught Gentiles. when he went to Rome to try to convert people, he was imprisoned. .the Romans killed and drove away the Jews (who had strict law against religious images by the way-Ten Commandments) that’s why Jewish Christianity disappeared. The leaders of the early Christians died long before the ruthless Roman Emperor Constantine accepted Christianity into Rome in 312 AD! A LOT of dark things happened before that. After Christianity got accepted, the Romans still practiced other religions. The Romans were always polytheistic and paganistic, which is why they continue that in their culture through Christianity even to the point of changing the Ten Commandments so they can continue their practices. Eventually with the early Christian groups dispersed, Roman Catholicism became the dominant Christian group being in the powerful nation at that time. Eventually of course their own priests left them and created the Orthodox, then the Protestant churches, because of they’re against the Roman Catholics changing Scripture and contradicting it in their practices and beliefs. Jesus said you have to be born again to see the kingdom of God not born with the flesh but born of the Spirit. RCC get followers through birth, not by convincing people. they only have a billion followers because they only become dominant in spanish colonized poverty stricken overpopulated countries with superstitious ignorant uneducated people. The biggest lie they tell them is they’re the first church! A church is the people not the building. A tree that doesn’t have roots and doesnt give out good fruit is meant to fall.
Well there is the RCIA folks who do come into the Church and this coming Holy Saturday night throughout the Church, there will be many baptisms and formal receptions. The Church has come a long way.
A good and blessed Happy Easter.
