ALSO, why are so many of these kids depressed in the first place? Could it be the collapse of values by their parents’ generation?

Two theories:
1 It is cool to brag to your friends etc about all of the medicines you are taking. It is approaching rare to run into a female on an EMS call who is not on SSRI’s.

2 Kids sit for hours on end playing video games instead of going outside and playing and learning how to be -people-. So we go back to number 1 in order to try to fix the problem.

I am constantly amazed at some of the people we interview who have zero skills to even carry on an intelligent conversation with another person.

The media will NEVER address that question; since the successful purge of Judeo-Christian morality from the public square, the world must be a dark place indeed for young people. Combine that with the absolute hopelessness many young are now facing with work/family issues (lack of worthwhile work causing many to languish in permanent “youth”), and a political situation that puts jobs and education out of reach for many young white males, and you have a disaster in the making. It is no longer “in the making”; it is here.

That seems quite likely.

Also, I think a lot of boys are prescribed drugs to just keep them quiet. Thanks to a lack of P.E. classes, and the proliferation of video games, they don’t get enough exercise or healthy outlets for their natural male “aggression,” for lack of a better word. They become fidgety and disruptive. So teachers, often generally women, want them to calm down—and medicine seems to be the outlet.

I say this as a woman, 50, who read “The Wonder of Boys” when my son was a toddler. That being said, my son, 17, watches video games, exercises (without our pushing him), and is courteous; he holds doors open for people.

My husband and I have been married for over 22 years. We may have our problems, but Chris knows we love him and will always be there for him, no matter what. We also pray and discuss spirituality.

So I think you have a point. It’s pretty sad.

Well, I don’t know which perfect place you went to high school from but I saw it with a few of my classmates back then. Mostly the nerds who got beat up, the loners etc. The good part is that we had school counselors who cared.

That, plus a lack of decent parenting for my generation (23-28).

Could also that is a cause why some of these shooters turn to devil worship?
