A CRUEL mum who beat her son to death for failing to learn parts of the Koran by heart has been jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 17 years. Sara Ege, 33, was convicted of murder after it was revealed she had burned the body of her seven-year-old boy Yaseen before trying to claim he had died in a house fire.
But a murder trial heard she treated little Yaseen like a “dog” and repeatedly beat him with a stick for failing to memorise religious texts quickly enough.
Ege collapsed as the sentence was delivered at Cardiff Crown Court and had to be helped, trembling and sobbing, from the dock.
She had been praised as a “brilliant mother” to seven-year-old Yaseen but was convicted of his murder by a jury at the same court last month.

She seems just as crazy as all those other moms that killed their kids, like that lady in SC.
She should have just let the husband beat the child, then they could go on being a happy family. Nothing would have happened to the father.

That said, he’s probably better off dead than being stuck with an evil hag for a mother his whole life.

How awful for her. She lost her son and now this.
Maybe they should publish the names and addresses of all practicing Muslims as they do the legal gun owners in some counties of NY.
I hear some deep thinker called Islam the “religion of peace”.

A judge can impose life, but must come up with a minimum term for possible parole. Life without chance of parole is not legal in England anymore, although there are prisoners who will never receive parole despite being eligible.
So a judge has to set a minimum in order for his sentence to stand, and it has to be a minimum that he believes will have a decent chance of being upheld on appeal.
