BANK OF AMERICA Freezes Gun Manufacturer's Account...
CNSNews.com ^ | January 7, 2013 | Gregory Gwyn-Williams Jr.

Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman.

In a Facebook post dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following:

“My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms...our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review.

“After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review -- her exact words were -- ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”(emphasis added)

Sirochman also wrote that he told the bank manager that “they have no right to make up their own new rules and regs” and that “[American Spirit is a] firearms manufacturer with all the proper licensing.”

He also noted that he has been doing business with Bank of America for over 10 years, but will now be looking for a new bank.

According to Unlawful News, this isn't the first time Bank of America has targeted a customer involved in the firearms industry.

McMillan Group International was reportedly told that its business was no longer welcome after the company started manufacturing firearms – even after 12 years of doing business with the bank.

I have banked with BOA for 14 years with no problems. Not only their staff at the local branch is exceedingly friendly and courteous, even their central phone answering people have given me numerous reversing of charges for accidental overdrafts on my part. I get unlimited check writing with zero monthly maintenance charges and free printing of checks. The bank also gives me free $1000 life insurance each year.

It would be interesting if you could show any positive comment about the MSM from those blog cops.

Hell hum-gun, all your rants against Palin are right there from the MSM, MSNBC crap cartel and you don't give them credit.
Kind of hypocritical of you not to give credit to your authors.
At least give credit to little, humble DU.

Passing up the MSM crap sandwich in favor of the.........

You seem to never be able to pass up the MSM crap sandwich when it comes to Palin or her family, hypocrite.
I'm starting to think your sole purpose here is to stifle conservative opinion (Blogs) and criticize Palin.

Do you know Earnest? He is at the beach also.

I have worked with some people at Bank of America and asked them about this last year when another from AZ about Bank of America and gun companies came up. They were in commercial banking and only dealt with large companies and were not familiar with the story. They said that they had no policy to avoid gun companies. The only companies that there group avoided was porn producers.

I know of this group in part because they packed and sent around 250 packages of candy and sundries to the troops every month.

So you have nothing but an attitude problem. Well that was obvious but I mean that’s ‘all’ you have.

So we remain free to comment negatively on your negative comments. Hopefully people will make a habit of that. Because blog posts are not nearly as annoying to read as your bitching is. After all, had we mot been interested in the post/article, we’d not have clicked the link to begin with.

You on the other hand, add exactly nothing but negativity and waste bandwidth.

It is the management ( bank of America) doing this which some of the employees have no say over unless they leave the company after learning this. Happy I don’t bank with them. Period. Even if they have some lovely people because I disagree with the top chairs/officials. Plus the flag issue that occurred before. I only see Ernest here on this forum by the posts; do not know him personally.

What? I didn’t mean to ‘imply anything. It’s a dusty road riding from thread to thread stirring up crap and derailing discussion.

Just thought your boys might have gotten a little trail dust on’em.

Why? did you think I meant something else? Really, I didn’t mean to IMPLY that.

People, go read any banks disclosure. This is called 'red flagging' banks do this all the time. It's not unusual and is CLEARLY disclosed to customers when they open the account. When deposits exponentially increase a bank will Red Flag the account for review to make sure no illegal activity is taking place.

For the most part this is MANDATED by the gov't. At the very least it is a bank policy.

Soothe and please yourself as you will.

Consider that your crying about me is far more disruptive of the thread than any little criticism of mine.

Imply that.

The woman at the bank was quoted in telling the customer that her bank was not helping a company to make profits on selling firearms so they made a decision to hold his money His money! It's nothing but robbery. I hope that he sues them. Hello, anyone home.

The whole article was posted, and that’s encouraged at FR. Nothing wrong with that. It’s also news from a conservative perspective. Thanks, CNSNews.com.

humblegunner, we wouldn’t see such news from the media racket sponsored by the bipartisan, socialist political/regulator class (also known as the MSM).
