NY Daily News ^ | 1/7/13 | PHILIP CAULFIELD

Investigators puzzled by why Sandy Hook gunman Adam Lanza wore earplugs during the massacre if he knew he was going to kill himself. Separately, evidence shows Lanza reloaded his weapon before the magazines were spent, leading to questions about whether he was influenced by the first-person shooter games he spent hours playing.

Confused? Gunfire is painfully loud.

Yeah, let’s ignore the whole mental illness thing, and focus on demonizing video games.

Typical leftist logic, ignore the issue at hand by straining at gnats.

The early magazine changes actually was probably related to Call of Duty strategy. People do that all the time in that game ... hange magazines between engagements, even if you’re not quite out, so you don’t get caught reloading during a gunfight.

He probably wore earplugs to protect his ears from the noise. He was still going to kill himself ... he just didn’t want his ears to bleed early.

It means nothing in the overall picture other than, on screen displays DO tell you when you're low or empty and I've seen a friend of mine re-load during a lull in the action ... 'cause he could.

I think that's all the poster was saying.

The practice of re-loading before being out is, IMO, video game influenced if not conditioned.

He had been to the range before. Earplugs are just part of the preparation for shooting. Habits are hard to break.

As for reloading before your magazines run dry, that is taught in every shooting school in the world, and is a part of the more realistic FPS games.

“If you aren’t shooting, you’re moving. If you aren’t moving, you’re reloading.” Its not really that big of a mystery.

Austics often have severe problems with loud noises.

Not really a shocker here.

Sometimes the ‘crack’ of a shot can be painful.

Earplugs were probably SOP when he followed his mom to the range, too.

I don’t read anything into the fact he was wearing them.

I’m curious as to why post a story from a website that is obviously anti-gun and pro-liberal?
