Member of Biden's Gun Control Task Force Has a Son Convicted of Planning School Mass Murder
Townhall.com ^ | January 7, 2013 | Katie Pavlich

President of the National Assocation of Police Officers and Boston Police Officer Thomas Nee is a member of Vice President Joe Biden's gun control task force, which was created by President Obama in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Nee's son, Joseph Nee, was convicted in 2008 for planning to commit mass murder of students and teachers at Marshfield High School in Massachusetts, similar to that of Columbine in 1999. After spending nine months in prison, Nee's conviction was upheld by the Supreme Judicial Court.

Nee told police the plan involved taking ammunition and explosive devices into the school, securing the school's exit doors with bicycle locks, and shooting students and staff.

As the blog SipseyStreetIrregulars first pointed out, Nee may have planned to carry out murders of his classmates with his father's service gun.

Boston Police plan to contact authorities investigating the alleged Columbine-style attack plot at Marshfield High School to determine if a gun that one suspect allegedly showed to another student was a .40-caliber handgun issued by Boston Police.

A female student told Marshfield Police that Joseph T. Nee, one of the two suspects in the case, pulled what she thought was a black, .40-caliber handgun from his waistband as she was getting off a school bus this past spring and told her "how the school was going to be shot up," John P. McLaughlin, an assistant Plymouth district attorney, said at Nee's arraignment Monday.

Nee is the son of Thomas J. Nee, president of the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association, the city's largest police union. Boston police officers carry .40-caliber Glock handguns, according to a department spokeswoman.

Yesterday, Boston Police Lieutenant Kevin Foley said news reports that Joseph Nee was carrying a .40-caliber handgun "was really the first we'd heard of that particular allegation."

Thomas Nee is serving as an expert on gun violence for Biden. Attorney General Eric Holder, Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department Charles Ramsey and others have also been tapped to provide their expertise to the task force.

If we can just achieve gun control, it will be safe to release Joseph Nee.

To understand a problem, you have to get people with first-hand knowledge of the problem.

It's the same rationale used when cybersecurity experts hire the browser and computer hackers.

Next, we'll be hiring members of Al-Qaeda to help us understand terrorism.

This article doesn't say Joseph Nee is still locked up ~ not that I could see anyway. So, where is he? Did he encourage Adam Lanza to do this attack?

In a strange sort of way this reminds me of the Brent Kimberlin deal ~ that's where a Democrat of that name tossed a stick of dynamite in a school yard ~ he did some other stuff as well.

He got caught, prosecuted and sent to prison and when the Algore ran for President Brent all of a sudden got to be known as Algore's expert on George Bush's alleged use of marijuana!

And that reminds me of the time Bill Clinton went out of his way to pardon a bunch of Puerto RIcan mad bombers and would-be assassins. That was topped only by Obama's use of another mad bomber, Bill Ayers, to start his political career with a living room intro and Demorat fund raiser.

These Democrats just can't help it ~ they're stuck on violence ~ all of 'em. I think the only investigation into Newtown that will make any sense and come up with anything useful will first focus on Obama, Biden and their own violent friends!@

My guess is actually Boston Mayor Mumbles Menino after conferencing with BPD Commissioner Ed Davis. This whole “commission” thing is simply a front for the Bloomberg/Menino gangsters.

This started out as finding a better way to protect children from crazed gunmen loose in the school. Now Obama has used the crisis to bring up outrageous gun control proposals to the point where the public is terrorized by Obama himself. Obama knows confiscation will be bloody. People will not be disarmed forcibly by the government.

Talk about mission creep. Sheesh!

The NRA proposal of an armed security guard at every school would deter most of the mentally ill people who do gun violence against innocent kids.

Let’s ignore our terrorist-in-chief and begin a rational discussion about protecting children.

We aren't going to be able to stop new unconstitutional gun control laws inside the broken system, and if there isn't a way to stop it outside the system then we are screwed. Going out on a principled banzai charge to our death with the knowledge everything is already lost isn't an optimal ending.

Wanting to have an outlet to fight for something that isn't a knowingly suicidal mission with no chance of success doesn't make that outlet exist. It very well may be coming down to a shameful and depressing surrender of all hope, or dying on principle resisting our tyrannical governments final humiliation of confiscating our guns.

Democrat “leadership” needs the gun issue to keep their foaming-at-the-mouth voters all P.O.’d at conservatives.

As far as the qualifications for anyone in any position within any democrat administration - all that really matters is that they will follow instructions and toe the party line.

I mean, who else but a democrat would pick a tax evader as Secretary of the Treasury?

Thomas Nee is serving as an expert on gun violence for Biden.

I would think that a Boston Police officer who allowed his son to gain access to his .40 Glock service pistol would have a rather unique perspective on gun violence. He should have much to add to the 'conversation'. Only if he's tortured and interogated that is.

This is going to be a great group. Holder gets the guns; Nee arranges the shooters; Ramsey sets up the white panel trucks like he did for DC. What can go wrong?

the new normal:

We’re gifted with a healthcare plan that we’re forced to purchase and fined if we don’t, which purportedly covers at least 10 million more people without adding a single doctor but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes — with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government that has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese and finally, financed by a country that’s broke.

Because students steal police guns for mass murder and because police are so often shot by their own service weapon, the only sensible thing would be to pass a law barring police from owning guns.
