Outgoing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, in announcing his stepping-down from his federal job, said the time has come for him to be with his family at his walnut farm where he can deal with a different set of nuts, which prompted laughter from the audience.
The time has come for me to return home to my wife Sylvia, our three sons, their families, our six grandchildren, and my walnut farmdealing with a different set of nuts, Panetta said Monday at the White House, alongside President Barack Obama, former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan.

Personally, I think Leon is tired of being put on the spot.
I don’t think he wants to lie or cover for the Marxist.
I agree.........Hillary, Geither....etc etc etc
Benghazi-Coward Obama fires Benghazi-Coward Panetta.
Crooked nuts, nutty crooks...
Does Hallmark make a “Good riddance you disgusting traitor” card?
His nuts are in a lockbox in the Oval Office.
Old Frequent Flyer Leon ought to lie down by his walnut trees to help fertilize them because he’s one of the biggest pieces of s**t to ever walk around.
” and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan. ”
Adviser? In what sense? Advising the enemy on how best to destroy America? I think so:
snip-”Alan Caruba says there’s a YouTube video of John Brennan, the Presidents national security advisor, praising Islam and the Arab culture to an unidentified group of Arabs that is so revealing it should be probable cause for his removal from office. At one point, he addresses them in fluent Arabic, a language acquired in his studies and CIA posts over the years.”
So, how long was he in his role as Defense Secretary? Before that he led the CIA. A great disservice to the country results when political hacks don’t stay in a job long enough to learn what their job is all about.
Panetta will pack up and leave town to avoid tough questioning about our failing security policy. Like he did before when he worked for Clinton, he'll head back to Monterey where he hauls in a cool $350,000 a year plus expenses running the liberal Leo Panetta policy center and discussion group at the local UC Campus and indoctrination center on the old Ft. Ord property. Gubmint been very, very good to Leon!
The very definition of the useless gubmint bureaucrat - wonder if he likes poetry? He would make a perfect Vogon.
Wonder what kind of government subsidies he gets for his walnut farm.
He is a loose end. I think he will be short for this world.
