An Omaha Wendys franchise announced it would cut hours for 100 employees due to the new Democrat Obamacare health plan.
WOWT reported:
A fast-food chain is slashing employee hours so franchise owners dont have to pay health benefits. Around 100 local Wendys workers have learned their hours are being cut. A spokesperson says a new health care law is to blame.
Thirty-six to 37 hours a week. Thats how many hours T.J. Growbeck works at the 84th and Giles Wendys restaurant. The money he earns helps him pay for the basics, but thats not the case for all his co-workers. There are some people doing it trying to get by.
The company has announced that all non-management positions will have their hours reduced to 28 a week. Gary Burdette, Vice President of Operations for the local franchise, says the cuts are coming because the new Affordable Health Care Act requires employers to offer health insurance to employees working 32-38 hours a week. Under the current law they are not considered full time and that as a small business owner, he cant afford to stay in operation and pay for everyones health insurance.

“The company has announced that all non-management positions will have their hours reduced to 28 a week.”
They’re omitting the second part of this; “management positions” will have their hours increased to 58 hours per week. GW Bush’s overhaul of the “exempt” and “non-exempt” employee issue led up to this; overtime pay will be a thing of the past, while overtime work is in everybody’s future.
Everything is going according to the plan
As Speaker Bonehead said, “It’s the law of the land.”
None, Nada, ZIP. . . . . .
exactly....they can pay there bills with any spare hopenchange they have left.

It’s early in the morning. I read it as OBAMA Wendys that is the only reason I read it.
That existed long before GW, I got to see it 1st hand w/ my team leaders and managers back in Conn in the early 90's.....
Yep; more low wage masses, more government dependency, more government transfer payments, more taxes. Another wonderful Obama accomplishment.

Under W the guidelines were clarified/revised. I voted for the guy twice, but a lot of the damage we’re seeing happened on his watch (and his predecessor’s as well). Jobs didn’t start fleeing to Asia when The Kenyan Pirate was elected, and I don’t know what any president can really do about it.
“If any of them voted for Obama, I have no sympathy for them.”
Given my experience with the fast food industry, I’d say 90% of them did. The end of the “payroll tax holiday” should be sufficient for them to see the light; it will be an empty inauguration ceremony.
Farm labor goes up to 54 hours a week before the Corporate Farms pay overtime; hence you work 12 consecutive days with two off and repeat until you find work elsewhere:)

That surprises me, given that minors can work on farms in many states (though I’m sure they have separate laws for them). Years ago I was at a farm in NW New Jersey, and couldn’t believe how many illegals were employed there (and 0 visible Americans). It quickly corrected the misconception that outside of our melting-pot cities were oceans of white people...
so, I might be willing to say this is a revenue problem rather than a spending problem unlike what the president thinks of our economy.

I work in a company of 500 people that is 98% minority and almost all of them voted for obama. This will probably be the last year they have health insurance cause almost certainly, it will be dropped in 2014.
Also their checks all went down due to the 2% SS increase and insurance increase. I just laugh at them and say “you voted for it,” when they whine about it.

At least 90%! I doubt they'll ever see the light, though!
I try to avoid fast-food restaurants if I possibly can. The idea of a lot of very unhappy low wage Obama voters handling my meal doesn't increase my confidence about the integrity of the product.
