Republican Gov. Chris Christie may have “prayed” for Superstorm Sandy because it has provided political cover for his failed economic policies, the Democratic leader of the state Senate said Monday.

Senate President Stephen Sweeney, the state’s most powerful elected Democrat and a possible contender for his party’s nomination for governor, said Christie’s jobs plan before the late October storm was a disaster and now the reconstruction will provide an economic boost through thousands of new construction jobs. …

“His jobs package is a hurricane,” Sweeney said during a press conference on Monday, the day before Christie was set to deliver his State of the State message. “I guess he prayed a lot and got lucky because a storm came.”

Sweeney immediately apologized for the remark. The governor’s office and leading Republicans pounced on Sweeney anyway. “No one prayed for what New Jersey has endured,” Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak said. “This is politics at its worst.” …

As the saying goes, God may not be a republican, but he is surely not a democrat.

Freud dubbed this “projection”.
The Dems know THEY pray for things like Hurricane Sandy so
they can exploit it politically, just as they’re doing now
with this statement.
This is getting REALLY old, and in a nutshell, it’s exactly
what turns off millions of Americans about their “partisan”
political process.

Do you remember when Democrats were decent human beings, who you did not wish a vile, painful death upon, because they were not purely evil hideous scumbags who take every possible character flaw and integrate them into their personalities?

Good take,

“He is fighting for us”, just like Obama does, He knows the scam.

Christie crawled into bed with the fleas seeking to be one with them.

Instead he is getting the biting he should have expected.

Can’t feel sorry for him. Just another discarded useful idiot.

Yes, the Dems are projecting. That’s all they do - ‘You are racist; you’re a nazi, etc.’ Gets so old.

This reminds me, though - if they are trying to take Christie out, I think we should unite and support him. Those libs seek to divide US wherever possible; I am with Reagan - we should present a united front and keep our dirty laundry in-house.

There is stupid and then there is evil and then there is evil stupid. The Senate leader has set a new low standard for both.
