Iowa Lawmaker: Ban Semi-Automatic Weapons, Then 'Start Taking Them' From Gun Owners if Needed
The Blaze ^ | 1/8/13 | Erica Ritz

A Democratic legislator in Iowa is startling citizens with his most recent proposal: ban the sale of semi-automatic weapons, and confiscate them from existing gun owners if need be.

Here is an excerpt from Iowa’s Daily Times Herald, which conducted the interview with State Rep. Dan Muhlbauer:

In an interview, a fiery Muhlbauer said it is time to act with “radical changes” on gun laws and other issues to protect schoolchildren from shooting sprees like the one last week in Newtown, Conn.

“We cannot have big guns out here as far as the big guns that are out here, the semi-automatics and all of them,” Muhlbauer said. “We can’t have those running around out here. Those are not hunting weapons.”

He added, “We should ban those in Iowa.”

Muhlbauer, who did not list the specific weapons he wants outlawed in The Daily Times Herald interview, said he would like to see the ban implemented in a retroactive fashion.

“Even if you have them, I think we need to start taking them,” Muhlbauer said. “We can’t have those out there. Because if they’re out there they’re just going to get circulated around to the wrong people. Those guns should not be in the public’s hands. There are just too many guns.” [Emphasis added]

Democrat = ALWAYS on the offensive, ALWAYS!

There is NO depth that they will not sink to to try to take something away from their enemies.

This is not “shocking” at all. I’ve dealt with people like this my entire life.

I wish, wish, that I could find something that he holds dear and propose banning it and confiscating it. Then ridicule him publicly for caring for it.

He’s probably a pedophile.

Eye for an eye.

Gotta love the Mayor who said, when referring to proposed gun confiscation, “I don’t think that would go over well.” HAHA! Now THAT has got to be the understatement of the year!

Yesterday, my newly elected Rep. Rick Nolan, said he backs the 2nd Amendment, but no one needs an “assault rifle” to hunt ducks.

Every time one of these asshats goes into th 'duck hunting' comment, I turn to them, cup my hand in a circle next to my eye so I can peer through it, smile ominously, and say "It ain't duck's I'm hunting."

As long as we are not worried about the Constitution any longer, I suggest that we ban free speech so that anyone holding office cannot discuss any issue related to guns, movies, or taxation. If they wish to do so, they can apply for a permit. If granted, the speaker will need to pay a tax for each word used, and then each of the journalists who wish to report it should be required to purchase a permit as well, after a background check for whether their use of the language has in the past been “incendiary.”

More people are killed every day in automobile crashes than with firearms. When will our automobiles be taken away from us?

On the other hand, they don’t think those same guns won’t do them damage if they try to “take” them.

The trouble is that these clowns that propose confiscating guns never envision themselves as the first guy through the door when the time to "take" them comes.

The Constitution now being meaningless, I vote to allow our troops to be quartered in the homes of the Democrat representatives to save money on the budget, with each household having to pay to feed the troops adequately, and to provide for their daily needs.

I thing this individual should house some Marines.

This LITTLE POS had better look at what is on the Flag of the State of Iowa, it says “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.’ He had better look LONG and Hard.

‘More people are killed every day in automobile crashes than with firearms. When will our automobiles be taken away from us?’

That’s covered under the Smart Growth plan. It’s being sold as the answer to suburban sprawl. The long term plan is to get everyone living in North Korean style high rises and riding mass transit.

From another forum, far away from F.R., on Democrat gun control proposals. Sucks to be Feinstein if the KKK starts holding press conferences to talk about how awesome they think she is:

(censored by me)

“Right on!!

We in the KKK have been working with Democrats for almost 100 years to disarm n***ers and we stand in strong solidarity with Senator Feinstein and the Democrat party in their new push to keep n***ers from having guns.

Just a few common sense laws will make it easier to take their guns, and also to put them in jail if they get uppity. New taxes might be the cure because n***ers won’t be able to afford any guns or ammo.

The gun registry is perfect because we can use it along with the Census and figure out what n***ers have guns so we can go get them.

I’ve already written to Senator Feinstein and told her how much we appreciate her work and to push harder.”

Am I doing something wrong?

Two things Muhlbauer:

1) The Second amendment isn't about hunting.

2) Muhlbauer, are you going to be the one who confiscates the weapons?

No? I didn't think so.

Times a coming, get ready, because people are going to die.
