WASHINGTON - Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell federal spending and the country's debt will dominate the congressional agenda for the next three months, and that debate about potential gun legislation in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting will take a back seat...

Now, about those guns...
We are in big trouble !!!

Right.
Sounds good. I don’t trust him not to cave, though....
In a perfect world. Which would also mean I'd have the house paid off and horses in the back forty. $;-)
We are soooooooooo screwed!
Weasel Mode: ENGAGED
It just means watch my left hand not my right hand. They want a diversion when they try and de-tooth us.
Why not this...debate about potential gun legislation in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting is off the table, the 2nd amendment is still the law of the land.
Quisling traitors, all of them.
I'm not sure what you heard, but I think what the Dems heard was that gun control was on the table as a trading chip for the solution for the debt limit.
The right answer would have been that there will not be any debate about the 2nd Amendment before, during or after any financial problem discussions. So, let's get on with the money trouble talks.
McConnell just said that our freedom was less important than money issues.
I hope he doesn’t mean that it’s negotiable.
Is there anyone alive Naive enough not to believe that this next sequestration will go down to the wire and the Republicans will cave?
If anyone doesn’t believe that I have a special Bridge for sale right down the street.
Mitch reminds me of Mr. Peepers...a character played by Wally Cox on TV in the late 1950s or thereabouts...all he needs is that little umbrella...
Elections have consequences and Mitch the gimmys and the slackers are in control of the Senate...so good luck Mr Peepers!

Mitch is in the minority party. He doesn’t control the agenda.
Aaaw, isn’t that cute? He thinks he’s relevant!
McConnell doesn’t run the Senate. He doesn’t set the agenda - the liberal Democrats do.
That said, McConnell has promised all kinds of things - then at the last minute turns around and recants. The “fiscal cliff” negotiations a week ago were the last thing he gave the left.
You actually think McConnell is going to stop the left from doing anything it wants?
This from Mitch the itch who is always looking for a b so he can be with Pansey and our Manchurian senator from Vietnam.
I don't think so.
Poll Shows Americans Trust The NRA More Than Media
NRA Has 54% Favorable Image in U.S.
U.S. Distrust in Media Hits New High
Any politician who was formerly endorsed by the NRA, and who now chooses to cross the NRA will be history. That's why being a single issue organization is smart. It keeps the weak sisters in the GOP from bailing on the NRA.
Uh huh.
Two Years ago there were rallies all across this country to stop Obamacare.
The response by elected officials was to come out with smug little smirks on their faces, arm in arm as they walked to vote “yes” on it anyway.
There was a temporary fall out - they lost 2010.
And they came back big in 2012.
Why would they fear the NRA? The NRA has endorsed all kinds of RINOs and moderates over the past few years. Joe Manchin comes to mind.
You don’t think gun control is going to pass? I’ll bet you any amount of money it does. It will probably be an act of Congress. But if it’s not, it’ll be an international treaty or executive order.
I’m sorry - the American people voted themselves out.
We were also told no way obamacare would be law of the land, yet it is. They have the power now. I hope you are correct in your thinking on this.
I hope you are right the NRA has been known to fold under political pressure. Like during the Bubba days even Bush 41 sent his membership back that time with Dingleberry.
