At least four of these people were from Boston, the Boston Public Health Commission’s Nick Martin told the Herald.

“We’re seeing a significant increase in sickness and severity,” Martin said.

People cannot afford flu shots due to the price tag on ObamaRomneyCare.

The flu or the flu shot? I got unhappy news last night a family acquaintance died of flu shot reaction. 50 years old and as far as I know healthy.

As usual with the Boston media the article is completely void of any detail as far as age or anything else.

Maybe the 18 represent the few people who are sick with the lack of DIEversity in thought of the Massachusetts political establishment. It is easy to get sick of Deval Patrick, fake Indian, Barney Frank and any Kennedy when one thinks and doesn’t feeeeeeeel.

I have only recieved a flu shot once. It was the only year I “caught” the flu and the sickest I have ever been in my life. Lesson learned.

One of the 18 was a nursing home resident who refused his flu shot.

hell, just ban the flu altogether, establish a national flu bug registration scheme, and begin the process of door to door flu bug confiscation.

It is clear that the average citizen cannot make decisions pertaining to the flu, and it obvious that this flu bug can be used for nefarious purposes.

Mass deaths from flu must be stopped. People with flu must not be allowed to infect our society. I call on Joe Biden to convene a study group on flu and see what can be done to eliminate this potential hazard to our school children. People carrying the flu germ must not be allowed within 100 feet of schools. Flu police must guard every door. Ban flu now!

I have received flu shots for years, mostly because I had to deal with the scum of society on a daily basis. During nearly 30 years on the job, I never contracted the flu.

Now retired and because of other health issues ( bad heart, bad lungs diabetic, the meds I require, etc. ), my immune system sucks and as such, I still get the yearly flu shot, but this year it didn’t work.

About 3 weeks after the injection, I came down with the flu from hell and it lasted for 2 long weeks. After the first week I started feeling better, a day later— it hit again. It was as though I had chugged that stuff you have to drink in prep for a colostomy, every day for two weeks.

I guess the good news is: it didn’t kill me, my septic system and drain field still works and I lost 18 pounds.

DO NOT try to lose weight this way! ;>)

Flu shots were mandatory in the military. We would usually get them in Dec or Jan and a lot of the troops got sick.

Get lots of sleep, eat lots of chicken soup, and avoid the maddening crowd is my advice for staying healthy.

May I add:

Wash your hands.
Decontaminate doorknobs and light switches around the house (don’t forget mailbox, faucet, toilet & fridge handles)
Then there’s your tv remote and video game controllers
Definitely avoid public restrooms & shopping carts & library books.

Scalding water & bleach (as well as being standoffish to nosy neighbors) are your friends....

Not that I obsess over these things.....

"At least 50 percent of the Laredo population has shown symptoms of respiratory infection, leading health authorities to urge the community to take preventive measures."

I live in Texas and have had Acute Bronchitis since before Thanksgiving. I had a 2nd followup with the pulmonary doctor today.

I'm still not over the coughing and he prescribed an inhaler this time. I go back in 6 weeks.

He said they do not know why so many are getting so sick for so long. But, they have noted that it is happening none-the-less.
