I guess these whales were watching too many Al Gore armageddon videos and became convinced that Global Warming had arrived... Not yet poor whales, not yet.

That recent movie about how the last trapped whales were saved bombed at the box office so I guess everyone is just going to let these whales drown.

We can all do our part.

Dash to the hardware store and buy all the incandescent bulbs that you can carry, and changeout with your CFLs...

Reverse global cooling...before it's too late for the whales!

Based on the NOAA data for 2012 (you know, the hottest year ever. EVER!!!!! Recorded and un-recorded) the ice should be melting as we type, thus, the whales will be good to go. Unless some of the indiginous folks chunk a harpoon in them. Better get the “sea shepard” on the red phone. (Stupid mother nature!)

It is curious that the video on the Toronto Sun website plays. Usually, I get a message when trying to play video from Canada:

‘This video is not available in your country.’

A truly compassionate person would provide counselling and abortion services to these whales.

Can’t they just eat the polar bears adrift on the flotsam?

If they are so isolated, I wonder if they have food—although I know they can live a long time without eating. But if they get hungry enough, they may attack each other.

I was on Polar Star in 1988-1990 when we were tasked at the end of our Arctic West Summmer tour to break some whales trapped by ice.

Height of the cold war, and the idea was to free the whales before the Soviets could come in and do it. They had a nuke powered breaker, and Polar Star ran on diesel.

Polar Star breaks ice by ‘dolphining’ up on top of the ice and using the weight of the ship to break it. At the end of a tour, the fuel state was around 60%, which in a clear, ice free ocean will get you anywhere you want.

With 20 knots of wind coming out of the west blowing millions of tons of ice down onto the Alaskan coast, 60% is approximately the same as ‘out of gas’.

They had dip$its down there on the ice posted around the whales to protect them from polar bears. Never mind that the polar bears were more endangered than the whales, and never mind that the whales represented a meal and then some at a VERY opportune time of the year for them (days getting VERY short, and nights lasting nearly 19 hours a day at that point).

Soviets busted them out, we turned the ship around and went back through the Northwest Passage and then down through the ditch. We’re darn lucky we didn’t hit significant ice going through the pass, though the Canadians would likely have broke us out if we had.

Let’s rally around them and feed them environmentalists until they can break free of the ice.

Now that's funny right there.

This video will be used by leftist propagandists to convince people of GLOBAL COOLING since the Global Warming scam has been revealed. Watch for Al’s next movie and Save the Killer Whales movement

Aren't these mammals expelling C02? Isn't the left fighting C02? Therefore, shouldn't eco hunter killer teams be on the way to solve this problem?

They're just like the Toronto Maple Leafs- hopelessly trapped when surrounded by ice.

To all- please ping me to Canadian topics.

Canada Ping!

According to the article global warming, is responsible for this frozen mess. They even claimed it would take “an act of God” to melt the ice to free the whales!

Really, what we need is Algoregod to go out there and release some of his almighty hot air to melt the ice!!!! If everyone and their cows could just fart enough!! Maybe an SUV convention?
