What’s in a name? The Redskins’ bad karma
Washington Post ^ | 01/09/2013 | Courtland Milloy

Posted on 01/09/2013 9:34:47 AM PST by detective

So, Washington football fans, how’s that offensive team name and demeaning sports mascot working out? Whooping and hollering as RGIII goes on a “Redskins” warpath only to leave a trail of tears when his wounded knee gets buried at FedEx Field.

In this obscene home team sports fantasy, the gifted Robert Griffin III was reduced to a “noble savage.” Let the “Redskin” play hurt. He can take it. Hail to the young brave-hearted quarterback as he limps into battle on that injured knee. Three cheers as he fights on his one good leg for Old D.C.

What do you think the new name for the Redskins will be? Community Organizers, Government Employees, Occupiers. Politically correct D.C. will demand the Redskins change their name. What will they change it to?

They made it to the playoffs in a year the coach openly declared a rebuilding year. Doesn’t smell like bad karma to me. Yeah the QB got hurt, but he was known to be fragile, which is why they drafted 2. And the backup can win, he has.

Rush is speaking about this right now, listening to him it was hard to believe the Post was actually this stupid to claim RGIII was hurt because of racism.

Now I am reading the excerpt (won't click on them and give them money), I find it simply incredible how weird libs have become.

Unhinged. Moronic. Foolish beyond words.

This nonsense has been going on for a long time - Stanford Indians changed to Cardinal (color, not bird) many years ago.
The Seattle University Maroons changed their name to Chieftains in 1938 to honor Chief Seattle - then about ten years ago, they became the Seattle Redhawks in a frenzy of political correctness.

I am with you on clicking liberal hack links.

RG3 tried valiantly to save his team. His backup QB was pathetic and he knew it.

Let’s give the credit where credit is due, the Seahawks prevailed because they have a talented QB named Russell Wilson. After being down 0-14, they did not fold, whimper and play with desperation. They methodically demolished the Redskins to no further scores with a top rated defense, while executing the usual RW1 magic.

What the hell are you talking about? Cousins has performed at a very high caliber every time he's had a real opprotunity...and last Sunday wasn't a real opportunity. Had he been braought in at the end of the 1st Qtr the Skins may ahve won that game.

Has nothing to do with “karma” but with cheapskate Dan Snyder’s refusal to fix FedEx disgraceful field, which is worse than an inner city kickball field, and has now shredded the knees of Adrian Peterson, (Seahawks DE) Chris Clemons and Robert Griffin III.

I am going by the only time I saw QB Cousins...in that skins-hawks game. He was truly pathetic. Could’nt even get a 1st down. But you know him better, so I will accede to your opinion of him.

BS. Cousins is a quality back up QB ... he could start for many teams in the NFL. You are totally clueless.

Well, we have Obamacare, Obamanomics, Obamanation ... call them the Obamaskins .... and their uniforms can all be black. Actually chocolate might be more appropriate, but black looks “bigger & badder”, just like Obama. /s
