China is at war with the US. They have successfully used mercantilist trade policies, and the naiveté of the free traders in the US, to deindustrialize this country. They support Iran. They facilitate North Korea’s aggression which will likely result in the execution of an EMP attack on the USA at a future date. They are engaging in a massive military buildup despite no perceivable threat. They daily engage in cyber attacks on the US military, US government, and private industry. They manipulate their currency and subsidize exports to make US made products economically unattractive within the USA. They steal intellectual property with impunity. They employ spies throughout the country to steal military secrets and industrial knowhow.
This has been going on for 25 years with zero response from the US. It is time to enact an across the board 50% tariff on imports of Chinese goods in retaliation.
