And to think, in 1962 Thomas J Dodd and Emauell Cellar proposed the first federal law on common firearms.
1962; “We don’t want to take away your guns, we ONLY want to register handguns! Rifles and shotguns will not be affected”.
1964: “We only want to register all your guns, not ban them! Only Army surplus guns will be banned.”
1968: “We only want to register your guns, and ban “Saturday Night Specials” and small foreign handguns along with army surplus rifles!” (They got the ban on 5 shot army surplus rifles and handguns and small foreign pistols)
1970: “We only want to ban Saturday night specials! large handguns and rifles will not be affected!” There was also a call at this time to ban all private possession of ALL GUNS.
1976: “We only want to ban all handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”
1981: “The NRA should give up their handguns, and they can keep their rifles!”- Lee Grant on GMA
1984: “We must ban “assault Rifles, unsuitable or hunting!”
1989: George Bush bans import of foreign made “assault rifles”.
1992: Assault rifle ban passed by Clinton.
2000: first calls to ban single shot .50 cal rifles...
More people will be killed in the first ten rounds than the last ten rounds of a magazine.
If the shooter of Gabby Giffords had used a six shot .357 mag she would be dead, the next person shot dead, and Judge Roll still just as dead, plus three others. Then he would have dropped that firearm, grabbed a second and started again.
Ever look at some of those old woodcuts of the Kansas border problems back around the Civil War? Notice that some of the men carry FOUR revolvers? That is 24 shots!

What do they have to debate with? We got the guns, they got nothing but threats and bluster.

I'm 70 and we all had six shooters strapped to our sides. Wonder how many caps there were in those "high capacity" rolls we bought.
What a blast we had in our youth. We were realistic back then. Toy guns were for play. Real guns were for deer meat.

Gun Control addition - ban 3d printers for citizens. Must have a Federal license to own, operate, and use this printer.
I submit this question for consideration, “How many enemies of the US, foreign or domestic, criminals and/or tyrants may I shoot before I must reload and how rapidly can I shoot them?”
I say that there should be no limit other than that of the military pattern firearm technology that I now possess.
yep, the country is going to turn into an armed camp. This is the Balkenization of the USA. Just what Obama wants.
He and his minions are escalating this every day. IMO, they are trying to force patriots to use force so they can have their Reichstag fire event and loose the dogs of war on us.
Joe Biden is the point man for this provocation. They are setting us up for an event that will be used to clamp down on us and the country. The wheels are in motion and this is going to play out regardless of whether we capitulate or defend ourselves.
Herr Leader is going to issue some sort of EO to provoke the people. We do nothing, we lose our last liberties. We respond, well, DHS comes down on us hard. They aren’t going to drop it this time.
