Nuke Plan Hurting Hagel

A new front is opening in the Senate confirmation fight over former Sen. Chuck Hagel as senators from states with nuclear bases are questioning the defense secretary nominee’s role in the Global Zero commission that advocates eliminating all nuclear weapons and making unilateral strategic arms cuts.

Six senators with home-state nuclear bases or membership on the Senate Armed Services Committee said they are either opposing Hagel’s nomination or questioning his judgment for backing the international anti-nuclear movement. Hagel is among some 300 international and national public figures supporting the group’s stated goal of seeking “the elimination of all nuclear weapons.”

“The Department of Defense’s mission is to deter war and protect the security of our country,” said Sen. John Barrasso (R., Wyo.), whose state is host to a major strategic missile base that would be eliminated under Global Zero’s plan to cut all land-based ICBMs.

Hagel is a progressive globalist. He ran as a Republican only to get elected. Any “Republican” that takes a job with the Food Stamp President’s administration is sure to be of similar ilk.

More and more it is looking to me like Obama picked this fight so that he could press Harry Reid to pull the trigger on the nuclear option and end Senate filibusters.

300 very stupid people. If every nation said, "Yep, yep, no nukes here," how could you know for sure they were telling the truth.

RR got it 100% right: Trust, but verify.

Obama knows what he’s doing. He actually wants to get us down to zero nuclear weapons. And most of the populations is sufficiently complacent and dumbed down that they’ll think its just peachy. Especially with the MSM cheering in the background.

I’m really starting to think we’ve got a good a$$ kicking coming to us. When one of our cities gets nuked, we’ll be just as surprised as the Romans no doubt were when Rome was sacked. Unfortunately, we’ll ALL get what the majority of Americans deserve.

Just can’t wait for the first time an American President tell us that we have to do exactly what Country X says because they have nukes and we don’t.

I'm telling ya, none of this matters if the Republican's really don't want (the drunk) Hagel to be SecDef.

They need to play up the homophobic and anti-gay remarks he's made over the years because frankly that is all the MSM will care about, if they will care about anything.

You mean to tell me they only are objecting to this because they have bases in their states????

What about the other senators? What about disarming America?

Hagel is an insane leftist (like Obama).

Thanks Nachum.

Notice the spin from the Partisan Media Shills -- the *only* senators concerned with *eliminating all US nuclear weapons* are those from states with nuclear bases (and no party affiliation mentioned).
