Statement From the National Rifle Association of America Regarding Today's White House Task Force Meeting

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again. We attended today's White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.

We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be “prejudged,” this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners - honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation's most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not.

-NRA-
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. Four million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services. Be sure to follow the NRA on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NationalRifleAssociation and on Twitter @NRA.

It is a crime that there are 80 million gun owners in this country and only 4 million belong to the NRA. JOIN NOW!

Of those 80 million legal gun owners, my guess is 95% to 99% will actively comply with or at least passively ignore even the most destructive, evil, and unconstitutional gun ban that Obama, Pelosi, and DiFi can imagine. That only leaves 800,000 to 4 million who would actively resist the confiscation. It's a shame it's not a bigger number, but I hope that is big enough to deter the far left from provoking violence. My big concern is whether the socialists care how many die if it furthers their grab for power.

Ha! You must break eggs to make omelets, Comrade.

"I will rejoin when they call for armed resistance to this illegitimate government."

Umm, don't look for that to happen anytime soon. I believe one can get arrested for advocating the violent overthow of the government.

A photo-op for Joe Biden to do his usual posturing and mugging for the cameras.

Nothing substantial will EVER come out of meetings between the denizens of the White Hut and serious defenders of the Second Amendment. No matter what the Current Occupant of the White Hut says, he would like VERY MUCH to be rid of the Second Amendment.

The suggestion that guns could be seized by an executive order is just too tempting for them not to try it.

“Stroke of the pen, law of the land - kinda cool.”

And this regime now occupying the White Hut wants so very much to be “cool”.

“They had a choice, all of them. They could have followed in the footsteps of good men like my father, or President Truman. Decent men, who believed in a day’s work for a day’s pay. Instead they followed the droppings of lechers and Communists and didn’t realize that the trail led over a precipice until it was too late. Don’t tell me they didn’t have a choice."

"Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody hell, all those liberals and intellectuals and smooth-talkers… and all of a sudden, nobody can think of anything to say.”
Rorschach – from The Watchmen

There's really nothing left to say to these monsters. Other things will be doing my talking.

But their tactics are lousy. Meaning we get to scavenge a TON of .40 hollow-point. . .

Addressing the issue does not address the agenda.

Agenda trumps the issue.

Agenda doesn’t even have to be rational.

Well cops are notoriously poor shots but I think most of them are good americans and not eager to go door to door confiscating weapons.

If the clowns in charge make the mistake of trying to take the guns it will be DHS and TSA types that knock on the door.

There are millions more in the hands of the American citizen. When it begins there will not be full blown confrontations. Where THEY live will be the area of contention.Sounds like a good movie script.
Bet there are a lot of potential Henry Bowmans out there.

only 4 million belong to the NRA. JOIN NOW!

Be cautious of emails supposedly from the NRA.

I recently received one that wanted me to renew my membership by clicking on the conveniently provided link.

The underlying 'link' did not go to any website with NRA in it.

Also, I am not a member of the NRA, so I have no reason to be receiving a 'renewal' request from them.

FYI

The left is known for its horrible assumptions. In this case it both assumes that soldiers and lawmen are uneducated, minimum wage drones, *and* that they will obey orders without question.

The left builds on these horrible assumptions by thinking that it could get tens of thousands of worthless ghetto rat criminals, put them in uniforms like the Nazis did to their brownshirts, and give them a gun, and they will be just as effective as soldiers and LEOs.

This would be Obama’s private army that he talked about in past. A Praetorian Guard made up of criminal scum, to oppress those who oppose him.

There are more than a few problems with this line of thinking. Not the least of which is that worthless ghetto rat criminal scum are not just ineffective, but cowardly and prone to running away when they meet even minimal resistance.

I think it might be true. I know a lot of LEO’s and many really don’t like guns. Many do not even want to take their service weapon at retirement if offered.I know they don’t go to the range much, once a year at the most, and are only issued fifty rounds to practice.BTW, MANY are out of shape and overweight from riding around in cars all day instead of walking a beat.

The NRA has a history of negotiating more with anti gun groups than GOA.
NRA has more political influence.

I know a lot of firearm owners from ages teens to over 70 and all walks of life. None of them are afraid to stand up for their Constitutional rights.Remember,we won’t live forever and if we check out fighting for the rights that millions died for before us, what could be better? If you take out 1 you are even. Over 1 you are ahead of the game.

<< Very discreetly, with a grin on his face, he said he had not heard of such a survey, but he “could fully understand why many LEO’s would not support such confiscation.” >>

Unless their paycheck, pension and/or benefits were on the line, then hell yes they’d come through your door with guns blazing.

Wake me up when the NRA starts training people with assault weapons in small unit tactics. They give hunter safety classes, they need to start doing militia tactics.

The leftwingtard baby killers have no moral high ground. Many of us think Joe Biden and his running dog lackeys planned and engineered the New Town attack.

"Is the acquisition of millions of rounds of hollow point bullets some sort of preparedness?"

This has chilled me since I heard about the IRS being armed.
