Do your elected officials know the meaning of the 2nd Amendment?
vanity | 01/10/13 | Vanity

I called my two senators and one congressman today to ask what their understanding of the Second Amendment was. Of the three....only the congressman's office gave the correct reply it gives the People the people the right to defend themselves from government.

And I live in a Red state. You would think this would be the automatic reply.

To be fair, I only got to speak to staff members, but the two Senate staff members didn't know. So I explained it to them. Not sure how they took it.

Call your Senators and Congressman/woman and find out if they know.

You are asking me to call Feinswine, Babs Boxer and some new creep that I don’t even know thanks to redistricting? If I did that, I would expect body parts to start falling off! Besides, you already know that they don’t know or don’t want to know what the 2A says.

THE VERY THIN RED LINE

The people to Obummer that the use of executive order against the Constitution`s Second Amendment would cross a “red line” for the American people

...it gives the People the people the right to defend themselves from government.

"...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

The 2nd amendment doesn't "give" us this right. The 2nd amendment instructs the government that this pre-existing "natural right", shall not be infringed.

Don't enable tyranny.

A better question would be:

Do they even care?

The Constitution doesn’t ‘’give ‘or grant us our rights, it’s supposed to protect them. ‘’The rights of man are not given by the gracious hand of any state but are guaranteed therein.’’- Thomas Paine.

What a funny question.
And the answer is NO.
My house rep - Lois Capps
Senate - Feinstein and Boxer
I am not sure they even know who to read.

You mean the militant lesbian and the pineapple/tuna queen. Throw them both out, they’re as useless as a dessicated corpse.

“...it gives the People the people the right to defend themselves from government.”

No, it acknowledges “the right of the people to keep and bear arms”, whatever that is, which enables them to defend themselves from government.

Of course they do.
It’s so you can shoot ducks.
(”Can I gets me a huntin’ license?”)
Which you don’t need all those mean, scary, children killing weapons for, wingnutz.
So listen to your DC minders because the government has been more than beneficent in the rights it has let you have.

Strange question do any of those idiots on the hill know the meaning of anything! You would think the USA went through a time warp and all the elite missed the meaning of the Constitution, Freedom, And Common sense!

The Constitution defines the limits of government, not the people. We are not “given” our rights except by God. The right to bear arms is thus far older than the Constitution and does not depend on it for its survival; instead, it depends wholly on our faith in an authority higher than the government.

As goes our faith in God, so go our liberties. When we fear government and government officials more than God, when our courage is lacking due to our disloyalty to Him, then the entire constitution is powerless to save us and we are nothing more than slaves of corrupted men.

Call your Senators and Congressman/woman and find out if they know.

How would I be able to 'trust' that the answer they give is true? It is well known, and has been factually documented that most of our politicians are liars and thieves.
