We need to get behind Gun Appreciation day set for January 19. I have word from an inside source on capital hill the NRA is about to pull an AARP and sell the membership out to Washington insiders. the NRA jumped on the same bandwagon as msnbc and smeared the day as being organized by fringe nuts. We all know the routine since we have seen it done to us and our candidates time and time again. We need to get the word out and support people and organizations that support our gun rights without exception! LaPierre and the NRA may think they can have it both ways by striking a deal with the Whitehouse and then tell us it is a good compromise ala AARP. NO! Our second amendment right is not negotiable.

If we don’t continually “remind” these progressives what our liberties are, they will take every one of them away. That nasty old constitution is a real hindrance to them.

The judge make to only statement that should be made about the 2nd amendment.

We should stay out of the weeds and stick to the main point.

The left refuse to acknowledge the reason for the 2nd.

They do, because they are the tyrants that the framers were talking about.

By the way, you notice when you make this argument with one of them, it is like holding garlic in front of vampires.

My Oath for Commissioned Officer that I took "I HAVING BEEN APPOINTED AN OFFICER IN THE ARMY OF THE UNITED STATES, AS INDICATED IN THE ABOVE DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; THAT I TAKE THIS OBLIGATION FREELY, WITHOUT ANY MENTAL RESERVATION OR PURPOSE OF EVASION; AND THAT I WILL WELL AND FAITHFULLY DISCHARGE THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICE UPON WHICH I AM ABOUT TO ENTER. SO HELP ME GOD" Then apparently, the political elected leadership in Wash DC that subscribes to destroying the liberties guaranteed by the US Constitution are the enemy!

When the backed Harry Reid I canceled my membership.

IMHO Wayne LaPierre needs to step aside. When he goes to the lame stream media he comes across nervous and rattled and it comes out all wrong.

The NRA IMHO is in desperate need of a orator with amazing skills that is unflappable.

Alan West for the Head of the NRA, or at least their main Press Spokesman.

That would make heads explode.

I’d even open my wallet to the NRA again if they did that.

I wish Andrew didn’t have the same last name as that witch Janet, because the title throws me off.

This is such a good article. Napolitano could be politically correct and fudge things to say machine guns, tanks, etc., were no way intended to be protected by the 2d amendment. From the article,

The principal reason the colonists won the American Revolution is that they possessed weapons equivalent in power and precision to those of the British government. If the colonists had been limited to crossbows that they had registered with the king’s government in London, while the British troops used gunpowder when they fought us here, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would have been captured and hanged.

We also defeated the king’s soldiers because they didn’t know who among us was armed, because there was no requirement of a permission slip from the government in order to exercise the right to self-defense. (Imagine the howls of protest if permission were required as a precondition to exercising the freedom of speech.) Today, the limitations on the power and precision of the guns we can lawfully own not only violate our natural right to self-defense and our personal sovereignties, they assure that a tyrant can more easily disarm and overcome us.

The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, with the same instruments they would use upon us. If the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto had had the firepower and ammunition that the Nazis had, some of Poland might have stayed free and more persons would have survived the Holocaust.

Most people in government reject natural rights and personal sovereignty. Most people in government believe that the exercise of everyone’s rights is subject to the will of those in the government. Most people in government believe that they can write any law and regulate any behavior, not subject to the natural law, not subject to the sovereignty

If Washington and Jefferson had been limited to bows and arrows and had to register even those, Napolitano is correct, the Revolution would never have been won.

The third amendment tells you the way you can know that the puke is a tyrant ~ he's put his agents in your house, they've got weapons and brutal methods, you didn't want them in there ~ and the second gives you the method ~ force of arms before they get there!

Rather intriguing that the modern Democrat party has adopted the same methods as Louis XIV to suppress dissent and resistance ~ they've got ObamaKKKare ~ it's so expensive they demand full control of your wallet, even the pitiful change purses of the poor, and they want to tell you when and how to get a proctocological exam!

Talk about intrusive!~

The second amendment advises each and every one of us that we are, in this country, nobility ~ with all the rights and privileges any nobleman ever had ~ to sit on a jury, to sue in court for personal damages, to vote, to attend meetings of government officials, or kings, to pass on laws in designated bodies, to tend to our own business, to own, to buy, to sell, to breath the air ~ BTW, this stuff isn't just late 1700s English common law ~ this goes all the way back to ancient Sumer where the rich man may not use the authority of the government to force the poor man to sell him his land nor his vines. Our current USSC violated that one in the CT case ~ they continue to punt when they find the intrusive ObamaKKKare to be merely a tax!

We all have a right to self-defense ~ and it is getting near the time when the oppressors will need to be deposed ~ and dealt with like the criminal trasy they really are.
