CCW came to Wisconsin just under two years ago. Those of us who have become licensed are, by a big majority, long time gun owners and shooters in hunting & recreation. We are comfortable being armed, will use the firearm responsibly and are more aware of our surroundings while armed. We are not cowboys or chumps who fumble with our holstered firearm.

All great points you make. Hoplophobes believe the police are there to protect them and others with guns are just plain dangerous. The police carry those guns to protect themselves. When seconds count, they are only minutes away. They will be there after the incident is over to check on the forensic evidence and do paperwork. Only you are responsible for your own protection and those under your mantle of protection. A weapon is nothing more than a useful rescue tool and may be used for other sporting purposes.
