No, of course not. No human guards will be able to keep kids safe. There is no absolute safety in this Universe anyway. You can only debate how well a guard equipped with A is able to counter threat B.

Are you Serious? An unarmed guard in a school. Not for nothing but if I were in a situation where a guy decided to enter a school for the purpose of murdering everyone there,I would be one of the first people to get the hell out of there.

Just because I’m getting a pay check from the place does not mean I have to throw my life away and I won’t do it.

That’s why these schools need Armed Personnel on the payroll so they can defend themselves as well as the staff and students of the school.

Why not just issue every teacher tasers?

Anyone can get nervous or just plain scared and miss with a weapon. But as I understand it, a taser takes effect immediately, it's hard to miss and keeps the perp down for a good while.

Personally, I liked the idea that came out a few days after Sandy Hook.

There's plenty of ex-military that wouldn't mind putting in a week each in a school to protect things and that can be trusted.

The shooter will still go for the uniformed person first, armed or unarmed. Where’s this poll I’m supposed to FReep?
