Is Obama Setting the Stage to Seize the Power of the Purse?
White House Dossier ^ | January 11, 2013, 6:07 pm | Keith Koffler

Posted on 01/11/2013 8:29:38 PM PST by Hoodat

The White House may craftily be laying the groundwork for a massive and thoroughly unconstitutional seizure of power from Congress.

Republicans are threatening not to raise the debt ceiling limit unless President Obama agrees to significant cuts in spending. And so, a move is increasingly afoot to have Obama raise it himself. It’s hard to imagine that the growing clamor doesn’t have the approval of the White House. And it’s hard to imagine a more egregious abuse of power.

There are few Constitutional principles more clear than that Congress is in charge of allotting the nation’s cash. . .

Every tyrannical government through all history ends in bloodshed, either external war and defeat, or internal insurrection and regime change in response to loss of freedom. It will happen here, count on it, it appears measures are underway.

The Senate, House, Congress in general, press, Supreme Court, even military, are no longer relevant to the certain outcome. The instruments of government are impotent.

The People, We the People, will restore the free republic, by force as may be recessary.

[[Our beloved country has gone to the dogs. Talk of confiscation of our guns. How far will they go before true blue Americans get REALLY fed up? I wonder.]]

As far as Australia went, and great brittain went, and most of europe went-

You bet it will but sadly, the poeopel will NOT be fighting for the right thing- freedom- they will be fighting the government to remain firmly attached to it’s teet- just liek greece and france and spain and elsewhere, where socialism has destroyed ALL sense of value and self worth, are furiously fihgting to stay firmly attached to their government’s teet-

All this panty wetting presumes that BoneHead will actually stand up for the constitution. Will he? Nope! Case closed.

I think many people deny who he is. They will he is not nearly clever enough to be the Devil or he is may be some lesser servant but certainly not -the- Devil, but I do believe that is exactly who he is.

He has seduced almost the entire world. Yes there are some he failed to seduce, but they will not be enough to stop him.

I’m still puzzling what poshitus meant by that ‘I hope’ the other day on the continuation of his presidency.

Nothing we can do, the republicans are in on this takeover up to their eyeballs. It will get a lot worse before it gets better. I predict a civil war.

Oh hmmm, I do believe I missed that particular “I hope” as I am not familiar with it off hand.

Just looking at the context of the words, I believe that they allude to what I have feared for sometime and that is that it is going to be very difficult indeed to scrape this mess from the shoes of America. It is not a mess that is simply going to fade from sight after the passage four years.

It may require new shoes...and new feet :(

I think “We the People” of this country are at the trigger point and any unconstitutional move by Obama to either create a gun grab or to bypass Congress on the debt limit will set off the shot heard ‘round the world. People are at their wits end and I don’t think they are going to stand for more abuse. I think they will rebel. I’m not sure what form it will take, i.e. civil war, state cessation, tax revolt or all of these but I can feel it and it’s scary. What we are experiencing now is exactly what prompted people to come to America and to cast off the vile oppressive government they had been under. Sadly it’s happened again and we have no choice but to fight back and reclaim what our constitution intended for us, freedom from tyrannical government and God given inalienable rights. The only question remaining is when does it begin.

HE wants civil war, then he can enslave us all in concentration camps. That’s what the gun grabbing is about. Don’t ever doubt that this has been well planned out for a long time!

> Don’t bother- the constitution means NOTHING anymore- John Roberts of the uspreme court made damn sure of that when he refused to stop this rogue government from unconstitutionally violating our rights

I suspect Obozo is abusing his power in regard to using federal agents to investigate anyone that opposes him. He’s sort of a cross between Herbert Hoover and Hitler. No one is safe while he sits on the throne.

You have to look to his gay lover, the one who who became enamored with him and figured he had the charisma and the skin tone to pull it off to see where the planning took and takes place.

Ain’t that right, Billy?

The recourse is pitchforks in Washington DC. Millions of them.
But it seems we all don't have the wear-with-all to get off the computers, take a day or two off work and show up. I've asked this of freepers before and you wouldn't believe the reasons why someone couldn't go.
I've been twice and lost money for not working, spent money I didn't have for rooms, food, and transportation there.Too far you say? We had people fly, take buses, walk, and bring their wheelchairs.
Ain't gonna happen cause y'all don't wanna give up a few of your pleasures.
and the biggest reason will be,,,, ta da,,,,No one listens to us.
They would have to listen if we shut down America.

I really don”t think this guy is gone in 2017. Things will get worse blame will go where it always had with him (to Bush) and the media will drum beat in his stay despite the Constitution.

I’m right with you.
We have to have faith that someday enough fellow Americans will just say “enough of this foolishness” and set things straight.
When that will happen? It sure won’t happen in the next 4 years. We are in for some real dark times and rough sledding I think for the next 10 years. It may be the current teenagers who right the ship, or it might be the case that in 2016 America will be sufficiently pissed off to get out the vote to oust democrats from top to bottom.
But the realitiy is that here we are in a crappy situation. That is our here and now. We have to live our lives and work to bring our country back no matter how long that will take.

Our recourse is to stop paying taxes all together.

It will be time for every paycheck receiving citizen to practice a bit of civil disobedience and change their W-4 so they get all their money in their check.

Or if an employer has the courage, to do the deductions but hold the funds in escrow until such time as we re-establish a legit form of government.

The other option is to for all producers to go on strike. Business to shut their doors. But, I think that is too far a reach for our producers.

A tax strike is much more achievable.

It appears to me that Congress is helping this man become a dictator.

Certainly Democrats are under his spell and many Republicans appear to be also.

If the Congress believes in the separations of powers why are they helping to destroy themselves?
