Hannity foresees states leaving union if fed government continues ‘radicalized, abusive’ pattern

On his Friday radio show, conservative talker and Fox News host Sean Hannity warned that the United States may fall apart if tax rates remain high.

“The states are now fighting and battling against their own federal government,” Hannity said. ”Same thing with individuals. If you live in a state like New York, New Jersey, California [or] one of these high-tax states [where] 60-plus cents of every dollar goes to taxes, you’ll say, ‘What the hell am I doing this for?’”

“A lot of people have told me that,” Hannity continued. “A lot of people are moving. … I noticed that Bobby Jindal moved to remove his state income tax. He’s not stupid. You know what’s going to happen in Louisiana? The same thing that is happening in Texas and Florida — their populations are soaring. They’re doing a lot better. State governments are fine. They’re surviving. They don’t have the property taxes they do in New York, which is obscene. In New York, you just pay and pay and pay and pay.”

States with lower taxes may soon decide they want to stop shouldering the burden of states with higher taxes, Hannity warned.

First state(s) to leave the Union will immediately become the wealthiest nation(s) in North America and the world.

The real threat of states leaving is the only thing that would peacefully scare the fat leftist and centrist in Washington into correcting their poor behavior.

It really should terrify them that producing states will pull out and leave them stuck in their leftist utopias trying to make it on their own.

Might be worth considering:

http://www.survivalblog.com/redoubt.html

“Giordano Bruno identified a trend that has been developing informally for many years: A conscious retrenchment into safe haven states. I strongly recommend this amalgamation, and that it be formalized. I suggest calling it The American Redoubt. I further recommend Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, eastern Oregon, and eastern Washington for the réduit. Some might call it a conglomeration, but I like to call it an amalgamation, since that evokes silver. And it will be a Biblically-sound and Constitutionally-sound silver local currency that will give it unity.

On April 15, 2011, the first movie in the planned Atlas Shrugged trilogy was released. I predicted that this film would both re-energize the Tea Party movement in the U.S. and also spark serious discussion of establishing a real-life Galt’s Gulch. (Or Gulches, plural.) I anticipate that this nascent movement, and the gulch itself will be a lot bigger than most other pundits anticipate. It could very well be a multi-state amalgamation like The American Redoubt, that I’ve advocated.

Why Not Some Adjoining States?

I’m sure that I’ll get e-mail from folks, suggesting expanding the Redoubt concept to include Utah, the Dakotas, and Colorado. Let me preemptively state the following: Utah is a conservative state, but its desert climate makes it unsuitable to feed its current population, much less one swelled by in-migration. North and South Dakota have some promise, but I have my doubts about how defendable they would be if ever came down to fight. Plains and steppes are tanker country. It is no coincidence that the armies of the world usually choose plains for their maneuver areas, for large scale war games. Some might argue that I shouldn’t have included eastern Oregon and eastern Washington. The population densities are suitably low, and the populace is overwhelmingly conservative, but the folks there are still at mercy of the more populous regions west of the Cascades, that dictate their state politics. But who is to say that their eastern counties won’t someday separate to form new states, like West Virginia? This same factor is even more pronounced in rural Colorado. Just a few large cities call the political shots, and they have been assimilated by ex-Californians. For this reason I reluctantly took Colorado off the list.”

Between day after day of Obama’s evil statist crusade, fully supported by his corrupt media handmaidens, and the bald-facedly ineffective “opposition” of the GOP, which alternates between cowering and capitulating on every issue, all I can say is...

short of a maybe a total “going Galt” movement or a viable third-party rising up, secession is looking like one of the only options left. Looking at what a socialist, morally degenerate sewer America has become, I feel I’m already starting to regard myself less of an “American” and more of a “Texan.”

Someone please toss Hannity a Ruth's Chris and tell him to STFU. The guy is a pretty boy RINO parrot; nothing more. Somewhere is a lib he's just dying to get on his "program", afterall, he has lots of "friends"...

The more I think about it, toss his buddy coulter three or four as well, she could use the protein.

Ratings. Ratings. Ratings.

He merely did that because he saw the sign, as the song goes.

He puts his finger in the wind like many other commentators.

Hannity must have read THE PRINCE. He sits on the fence until he determines which way the crowd is going then he jumps in front and yells “Follow me!” And he yells it as loud as he can to make sure he hears himself.

Unless they put up high security walls, it won’t matter. Libs will infiltrate, and eventually the ruin will happen.

Just ask states like Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico.

The states won’t build walls now to keep illegals out. What makes anyone think they will, should they secede? What about Aunt Harriet and Uncle Fred and cousins and siblings and grandparents who reside in the ‘blue’ states? Do they get to visit?

==

It is just bluster. It won’t happen — primarily because the FED needs the tax money and won’t let states that are prosperous to secede.

The problem is with the politicians. Those seceding states will have new politicians and will eventually either rejoin the union or join with the other states under a new union — and things will eventually become similar to what it is now.

Hannity is in New York.
NY isn't leaving the states over higher taxes, they love taxes. The easily elected O twice.
Ask Cuomo.

Jeeze Hannity is dumb!

States leaving the Union won’t be so obvious. It will start with States that won’t enforce some Federal laws and slowly progress further. Only if and when the Supreme Court continues to ignore the Constitution will any major escalation happen. It again depends upon the Supreme Court finally getting its act together and upholding the plainly written Constitution (which is much in doubt these days)...

If a free society is to exist, the liberalism/ fascism/ marxism whatever ism it goes by has to be snuffed out as soon as it reveals itself if not sooner.

Furthermore, representative politics cannot exist, because it draws those who wish to usurp.

I am not actually certain that a free society can exist, because as soon as it is created the termites move in and begin to gnaw.

Man is simply not content unless he controls all other men, and even then it’s not enough.

States don’t have to petition the feds to secede. They can do it themselves.

What state(s) have the milita to face the FED (as in US Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force) when the FED says any secession is illegal?

The Confederate States tried it and lost.

Remember, if a state declares itself a free entity, the provisions of The Posse Comitatus Act would not apply to them, as the military forces lined up just outside their borders.
