stop trying to tell me what I believe

okay?

you believe it better to elect a liberal Democrat than a less than perfect Republican

No, I don't think it is "better". I think it's pretty much a wash.

Give me Snowe, Brown and Lugar, any day

You can have'em, I ain't claiming them.

All of you morons(and you know who you are) who didn’t vote against “The One” are responsible for his re-election.

What a bunch of effin retards!

(not a Romney supporter)

That’s a real smart strategy, continue to surrender to the Commie/Marxist bastards. Too many here on FR are totally brainwashed as to what is possible and a sound strategy to accomplish stated goals. Trust me, what you want is no different from what I want, the difference is strategy. With your strategy, you will perpetually lose and will lose ground and dig a deeper and deeper hole from which it is impossible to escape. Democrats have to rejoice if they read posts like yous. Mine tell those dirty low down rats, I’m coming after them with every thing I’ve got.

Would you like to get rid of a Democrat majority in the Senate and get rid of Harry Reid? Well, if you do, listen to me—I’m telling you the truth—you must vote for your favorite Republican in the primary and then vote straight Republican in the general. Never, ever, ever allow a Democrat to win if it’s possible to stop them—NEVER.

So, according to Politico, the Washington team is gearing up a new effort to protect incumbents and limit the ability of Republican voters to successfully challenge establishment candidates.

Names. We need names of people who are doing this, or supporting those who are doing it. Lots of names. We need a list .... a long, long list.

surrender?

That is what RINO’s do with regularity. Accusing those who do not want the GOPe to surrender of wanting to surrender is pathetic. Conservatives have to fight the GOP establishment every step of the way just to keep the status quo much less move forward.

SO when the GOPe surrenders on debt ceilings, tax cuts, spending cuts, immigration, gun control etc etc.... the people you choose to criticize will be those who do not agree with the GOPe decision to capitulate??

Hello Whig Party....

No, going third-party won't get it done. A putsch within the GOP similar to F. Clifton White and Barry Goldwater's 1964 successful insurrection is your better model in terms of outcomes down the road.

We have sweat, money, and vote equity in the GOP. It isn't the property of the Atlantic Seaboard Yacht Club types or the Harvard Porcellian Club or Yale Bonesmen, nor of the Business Roundtable.

I says screw the GOPe, not the GOP. No third party has a chance of success, except to guarantee a Communist victory.

Correctamundo bump. Worth quoting and bumping.

I would like to get rid of a liberal majority in the Senate.

That “controversial” vote on the fiscal cliff was 89-8, and some of the no’s were Democrats. Replacing liberal D’s with liberal R’s does not make it any better.

"Hence, our best option is a another Party."

No, the best option is NOT a third party, nor a fourth party, nor a fifth party.

BTW, the Libertards will be all over this thread like mice on rice, using threads like these to demoralize registered Republicans who choose to work from within and on the local level for change in the GOP.

Oh I’m not proposing a third party, just pointing this is how party’s die, like the Whigs.

They'll try to keep the corpse alive for several more election cycles, sucking money out of people. All they are doing is feeding the statist hog.

There's a big difference between the RNC, and rank and file GOP voters.

There's a big difference between the Republican Senate Caucus, and rank and file GOP voters.

It remains to be seen what power the rank and file have. Power in the GOP currently rests with K street, as it does with the DemocRATs. They call the shots, as we saw these last few months.

Well, two of those NO votes were from Iowa senators. Both Grassley and Harkin voted against it but it was for different reasons. Harkin didn't like it because it didn't raise enough taxes.

NOw, get real with voetes such as that one. It is so easy to say we want it a certain way and jump up and down and scream and holler but that doesn't change the fact that the DEMOCRATS control the Senate and anyone who is glad that Snowe, Brown and Lugar are gone, is agreeing they are happy that the RATS control the place. This is exactly what I am talking about--there's only one way to get rid of RAT control and that is to ALWAYS VOTE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN, even if you do not like the Republican--it's better than what we have.

If you're not willing to fight to get a Republican majority, then this is what we will have perpetually.

I worked in a state legislature for 16 years. I know how the process works--there is no other way, trust me. Always do everything possible to stop Democrats.

Replacing a liberal D with a liberal R does make it better--trust me, every R, no matter how liberal still counts toward a majority and it means the Rs controlling the agenda or the Ds controlling the agenda. Control is everything.

Many times during my time in the legislature, we would get legislation to where we thought we had the votes and at the last minute a RINO would vote with the RATS and sink the legislation. The frustration is intense BUT still, when one stops being angry and examines the reality of the situation, we still needed that RINO to keep us in the majority. We need every Republican we can get--no matter how conservative or how liberal. The strategy should be to gradually replace a RINO in a primary (or vacancy) whenever possible but still, ALWAYS vote STRAIGHT Republican in the general--ALWAYS.

Re your post 66, I should have clarified myself.

You see, I’ve pretty much toosed in the towel. The electorate has changed so much that I think the outlook is hopeless. The American people are clearly going to get the government they deserve, and in the words of H. L. Mencken, they’re going to get it good and hard.

Now, that doesn’t mean I won’t vote for good Republicans down ticket. I will but I cannot see much of a future for this country.

Also, please understand that I am 72 and was told recently by my cardiologist that that I have pretty bad heart disease. Which does not surprise me since it runs in the family and I expected as such. I have outlived my male relatives so much that I am living on borrowed time.

Luckily for me, I have no children—hence no grandchildren—to suffer the consequences of the recent elections. For that, I am immensely grateful.
