Soros’ liberal think-tank releases ‘demands’ for gun control

As a result of Vice President Joe Biden’s task force to explore changes to gun laws, the Center for American Progress, an influential liberal think-tank funded by George Soros, has released 13 recommendations to “prevent gun violence in our nation.”

Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress, told Fox News Sunday that her group will “absolutely” mount a full-scale campaign to push for more gun control.

The proposal targets three key areas:...

There's a reason they have recommended several "executive action" items. You can bet these are the areas Obama will hit first, without Congress.

Soros wasn't born here, and he was a Nazi ~ all of which is bad ~ he's even a convicted criminal in France and if he went to Greece, Korea or Thailand they'd probably have him shot on sight.

He lives here ~ and he's probably a citizen ~ and he's not honest. Yet the Democrats adore the man.

Much of the language is loaded. "Military grade weapons" is an inaccurate description of a semiauto Bushmaster, for example.

Further, are my M-38 Swede Mauser and Swiss K-31 open to being defined under the blanket of "military grade"?

We need people smarter than I am to go through this stuff ahead of time and catalog items likely to be abused, keeping in mind that a total ban is the ultimate goal.

The gun grabbers ARE building a foundation for further steps.

We must stay ahead of them.

First, there are already more than 20,000 gun control laws actively on the books today and none of them prevented this tragedy. Second, millions upon million of people in America own guns and 99.9999% of them have never and will never do anything like this.

So, let’s lose the hysteria and analyze the facts - a PERSON did this, NOT a hunk of steel. In Portland, a PERSON killed two people in the mall, NOT a hunk of steel! In Denver, a PERSON shot up the theater, NOT a hunk of steel!!

NONE of these facts will matter to the gun-grabbing nanny-staters, because they focus solely on the gun and nothing else. So, what happens if ALL guns are outlawed and forcibly collected by the feds? Someone bent on committing mass murder may turn to knives, hatchets, chainsaws or machetes. So, we outlaw those. The next person to commit a heinous crime may use a bat, poison, poison gas or a semi-tractor. And the one after that may use a car, a pen or pencil, a rock, his hands . . . . . . so when do we blame the PERSON and NOT the inanimate weapon!???

The fact remains that until the left understands that murdering humans by ANY means including their favorite method, abortion, human life will be valueless and more copycats will come out to exercise their demented mass murder of innocent people.

All of that said, it occurs to me that the gun-grabbers are from the leftist school of complete control. What that means is that if 1 person commits a gun crime then, under the leftist theory of the “collective” and “groupthink”, they believe that ALL gun owners will commit mass murder unless they eliminate guns (good luck with that!). So, the calls for more gun control by the left after these incidents is twofold - eliminate the “balance of power” the Founding Fathers so carefully wove into the Constitution and gain total control over the people.

Another part that affects all of this is the fact that laws, whether gun laws, robbery laws, or whatever, are written solely to affect law-abiding citizens. People who commit crimes are called “outlaws” and criminals because they DON’T adhere to the laws created to control or stop their illegal activities.

So, should the left create additional gun control laws, will it prevent the next gun-related crime? Of course not. Laws only affect those of us who obey them. Those who disregard the law won’t be stopped from committing whatever crime they want to commit.

As a final note, Adam Lanza did not own the guns he used to murder all of the people at Sandy Hook Elementary. They were his mother’s guns and they were all legally purchased and registered. Which begs the question, what will any NEW gun control laws accomplish?

From the article:

Take military-grade weapons off the streets and out of criminals’ hands

Legislative proposals

Reregulate assault weapons

Ban high-capacity gun magazines

Executive action

Require broader reporting of multiple sales of assault rifles?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How, pray tell, would these proposals disarm criminals who already illegally purchase, own and use illegal weapons.?
Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!!! That's right Nancy, it won't!!!
"Military grade" is just another made up buzz term but we'd better pin them down on what they want it to mean. It has nothing to do with quality.
Understand, they will try to make up new language to brainwash and program the mob.
Focus on WHY they want the guns.
WHAT do they want to do that they cannot, as long as we are armed?
Here is the brief’s 13 point outline:
1. Better background checks
   1.1. Legislative proposals
      1.1.1. A background check for every gun sale
      1.1.2. Input all necessary records into the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System
      1.1.3. Prevent convicted stalkers from acquiring guns
      1.1.4. Close the “terror gap”
   1.2. Executive action
      1.2.1. Penalize states that fail to provide records to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System
      1.2.2. Ensure that federal agencies provide required records to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System
      1.2.3. Perform background checks on employees of federally licensed dealers during the course of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives audit inspections
2. Take military-grade weapons off the streets and out of criminals’ hands
   2.1. Legislative proposals
      2.1.1. Re-regulate assault weapons
      2.1.2. Ban high-capacity gun magazines
   2.2. Executive action
      2.2.1. Require broader reporting of multiple sales of assault rifles
3. Better data, better coordination, and better enforcement
   3.1. Legislative proposals
      3.1.1. Strip riders from the administration’s fiscal year 2014 budget and all future budgets that restrict gun data collection and sharing
      3.1.2. Treat gun trafficking as a serious crime
   3.2. Executive action
      3.2.1. Begin the process of the FBI absorbing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives
You may note that sections 1.1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 2.2.1, and 3.1.1 form the nucleus of a gun registration system.
I see a glimmer of their "end game" here, if they can get "assault weapons" classified as NFA items and allow them to be grandfathered in with no excise tax applied. Many people will say why not, there is no down side. The pointy end of the stick comes later when you plan on leaving your trusty AR-15 to your son. Now you find out that effectively you may not transfer the registered firearm to your child. It must either be returned to the ATF for destruction or sold through a FFL licensed to buy and sell NFA items. Said dealer must reside in your state of residence. Since the ATF controls how many FNA class dealers are licensed, it isn't too much of a reach to expect to see the number decreasing yearly, as the number of guns defined as NFA items increases. Since gun owners can't bequeath them to the younger generation and may find difficulty in finding a NFA dealer, guns will gravitate back to ATF for destruction.
There is a way around this however. You form a revocable trust and give all your guns to your trust as trust assets. In the eyes of the law trusts are legal entities, just like people except they do not die. Trusts are also very discreet, they don't "register" with Federal or State governments, nor do they pay taxes. You become a trustee and are permitted to use trust assets as you see fit. When time grows short, you name your son (or daughter) or both as trustees and they continue the family trust ad infinitum.
GtG
I wish I knew. You don’t get that much power without collusion amongst like minds. Someone would have taken him down by now if they didn’t agree with what he’s doing. Maybe he’s just the public face of something bigger.
Or for the people who don’t believe in conspiracies, ‘he did it his way’.
I have an old Civil War 1863 Springfield military rifle which is a muzzleloader. It shoots a really mean rifled minnie-ball. Obviously, it is a military weapon and even carries a wicked looking bayonet. It is down right deadly in the wrong hands. It's a military pattern weapon.
Do I need to turn it in or will George Soros let me keep it??
