Most Americans, even legal gun owners would be shocked at the underground market of legally bought firearms that end up being sold to criminals. Don't mean to sound bigoted but in the black community it's well established. Live in Detroit, Philly , Bed-Sty(Bedford Stuyvesant ,Brooklyn NY) Camden?. Got friends or relatives who live in Atlanta or Memphis? Ride down, pay them a visit for the week-end and come back home with a trunk full of hardware.

MY NEW ASSAULT WEAPON IS PINK! And it works just like the black ones, with 25 cartridge magazine.

If attacked, they just move into gun-free zones. By law, they are safe there.

Why do you think Walmart was ‘convinced’ to rething their refusal of a tete-a-tete in DC last week? Why do you think Bank of America pulled their financing from a succussful gun manufaturer for a new facility , even tho’ the company had a spotless credit record?

This is so important for people to understand. They aren't going to revoke the 2nd Amendment out in the open. They are going to use their consolidated fascist power of the banks and big international companies to limit gun owenership. I am expecting registration as the "reasonable" compromise that will come out of congress. But good luck buying effective or afforable ammunition. And once the gun registries are shared with the insurance companies, do you think your home, auto and life insurance will go up? And do you think you'll be able to buy a home near a school, church, or day care center (meaning, almost anywhere?) High probability they are going to do this through stealth, not the door to door collections that would mean civil war.

Schumer on Sunday released a letter he sent to major retailers asking for a voluntary moratorium.

Citizen/peasants of America should send a letter to US Senators who are incapable of treasonous suggestions to violate the Constitution, asking them for a voluntary moratorium on votes supporting such treason.

There is no difference between Republican and Democrat.

They are two factions, a collection evil degenerate baby killing communists on one side and elitist blue blood country clubbers crony capitalists on the other, who only have elections to decide who gets to divide up and spend the money extorted from the working man by the IRS.

There will never be any Solutions coming from Washington DC because Washington DC is the Problem.

The only thing that will come from DC is more taxes and less freedom.

The political class doesn’t give a rats ass about anything other than staying in power by any means necessary and serving 5 years to get a federal Congressional pension for life.

There is never a recession in DC, they skim off the the money they steal from workers paychecks every week and figure out new and ever more outlandish ways to waste it.

Every day they hire hundreds of new bureaucrats for life terms starting at salaries of $90-135K to sit around and figure out ways to steal more of our cash.

Their propaganda wing in the press reports none of this.

There is no greater threat to the Prosperity, Security and Freedom of the American citizen than the federal apparatus in DC.

The apparatus cannot be reformed, only destroyed.

The Federal capital must be rotated amongst the states, and allowed to convene for no more than 21 days in any given year.

We are slaves to the Washingtonians, it’s time to recognize the enemy within and come up with creative ways to defeat them.

Its time for someone like Palin or West to publicly break with the blue blood banker faction of the Washingtonians that call themselves “Republicans” and start a campaign to have all registered members of that party throughout the nation resign en masse.

Declare war on DC, start a new party larger in size than the GOP for real Americans, and recruit candidates who will go to DC not to reform or solve problems but to destroy the federal apparatus.

It’s time to start calling out the rabid baby killers, trade unionists, sex perverts, trial lawyers, communists , race baiters, lobbyists , apparatchiks, propagandists in the press, gun grabbers, and imbeciles that pollute DC and the State Capitols and their supporters that live amongst us for what they are, disgusting degenerate evil parasites that must be stopped.

Eliminate tax withholding, no new hiring of federal employees, rotate the Capital amongst the states and if necessary break up the Republic and form new nations on this continent.

Schumer Calls On WalMart & Other Retailers To Suspend Assault Weapons Sales While Debated In Congress

http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/General+News/152304/Schumer-Calls-On-WalMart-%26-Other-Retailers-To-Suspend-Assault-Weapons-Sales-While-Debated-In-Congress.html

Since the Sandy Hook massacre, many states across the country have seen consumer demand for guns skyrocket. According to the Associated Press, there were nearly twice as many background checks in the country for firearms between November and December of this year than during the same time last year. Law enforcement officials in Florida announced that on the day of the shooting, there were 4,805 background check requests for buyers as opposed to the 3,388 the day prior to the shooting. In Georgia, the FBI processed 37,586 background checks for guns in October and that number skyrocketed to 78,998 in December. In Alabama, the number went from 32,850 in October to 80,576 in December. In Connecticut, one gun store, ArmsX, located near Sandy Hook Elementary School noted that the AR-15 style rifle, which was used at Sandy Hook, accounted for more than 25 percent of their recent sales.

Recently, extreme pro-gun advocates announced “Gun Appreciation Day,” which will fall on January 19, 2013. The purpose of this day is to gather as many Americans as possible to go to their local guns store, gun range or gun show and purchase assault weapons. In fact, the website’s goal is to reach 50 million American signatures on their petition that protests a discussion of national gun laws.

Schumer is today calling on the nation’s largest gun retailers to temporarily suspend all sales, online and in stores, of modern assault-style weapons, like the one used at Sandy Hook. He noted that a moratorium on assault weapons would appropriately respect the Second Amendment and the safety of our nation’s children, while Congress debates the best way to implement gun safety laws.

A copy of Schumer’s letter can be found below:

Dear Mr. Duke, Mr. Millner, Mr. Hagale, Mr. Pratt, Mr. Webb, Mr. Faldyn, and Mr. Miller,

I write today with a heavy heart; the tragedy that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, has left an indelible imprint on our national psyche. As a parent, my heart goes out to all of those who lost loved ones in the tragedy as well as the survivors. The people of Newtown —and all our fellow Americans—will have a long journey to try to understand how such a horrific event could occur. On a national level, there is a thoughtful discussion underway about specific legislative approaches to prevent a senseless massacre like this from occurring again. In the meantime, I respectfully request that you temporarily suspend all sales of assault rifles such as the Bushmaster .223 assault rifle and AK-47 rifle.

The Bushmaster .223 allowed Adam Lanza to fire enough rounds to put multiple bullets in each of the twenty slaughtered children in a span of two minutes. It may be that there is an appropriate role for weapons like the Bushmaster in the hands of civilians, but today it is difficult to imagine what that might be. I hope to work together with you to evaluate our laws and identify the best way to balance the rights of individuals with our responsibility to protect the most innocent among us. I am disturbed, however, that while that conversation is ongoing, sales of assault rifles are reportedly skyrocketing and those resistant to change are planning events such as “National Gun Appreciation Day” to protest these conversations. I believe that these activities are counterproductive to the open dialogue we have begun.

As the President recently said, “Our first task [is] caring for our children. If we don’t get that right, we don’t get anything right. That’s how, as a society, we will be judged.” I agree with the President and believe that every necessary step must be taken to protect innocent children. Therefore, during this time of grief, reflection, and sadness, I would ask that you follow the action of some of your peers and suspend sales on assault rifles both online and in your retail stores. I also hope that you will join in a conversation with the American people regarding these weapons and how to appropriately respect both the Second Amendment and the safety of our children.

Thank you,

Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator

Then stop allowing 300,000 to be aborted each year.

These liars always say it's "for the children" except when it comes to abortion. He's got it right about the we "will be judged" part, though.

Indeed. Blessings to you and yours, as well.

Here's something interesting I came across. It looks like it may be from 2000, not sure and not sure if Paul Harvey actually wrote this. Interesting, none the less. (Apologies if it's been recently posted.)

OPINION: Paul Harvey on Guns
Paul Harvey's comment on Columbine High shootings:

How can we blame it all on guns?

For the life of me, I can't understand what could have gone wrong in Littleton, CO. If only the parents had kept their children away from the guns, we wouldn't have had such a tragedy. Yeah, it must have been the guns.

It couldn't have been because half our children are being raised in broken homes.

It couldn't have been because our children get to spend an average of 30 seconds in meaningful conversation with their parents each day. After all, we give our children quality time.

It couldn't have been because we treat our children as pets and our pets as children.

It couldn't have been because we place our children in day care centers where they learn their socialization skills among their peers under the law of the jungle while employees who have no vested interest in the children look on and make sure that no blood is spilled.

It couldn't have been because we allow our children to watch, on the average, seven hours of television a day filled with the glorification of sex and violence that isn't fit for adult consumption.

It couldn't have been because we allow our children to enter into virtual worlds in which, to win the game, one must kill as many opponents as possible in the most sadistic way possible.

It couldn't have been because we have sterilized and contracepted our families down to sizes so small that the children we do have are so spoiled with material things that they come to equate the receiving of the material with love.

It couldn't have been because our children, who historically have been seen as a blessing from God, are now being viewed as either a mistake created when contraception fails or inconveniences that parents try to raise in their spare time.

It couldn't have been because we give two-year prison sentences to teenagers who kill their newborns.

It couldn't have been because our school systems teach the children that they are nothing but glorified apes who have evolved out of some primordial soup of mud by teaching evolution as fact and by handing out condoms as if they were candy.

It couldn't have been because we teach our children that there are no laws of morality that transcend us, that everything is relative and that actions don't have consequences. What the heck, the president gets away with it.

Nah, it must have been the guns.

Paul Harvey

Thanks for posting his letter so we can read he wants these stores to stop selling those rifles. Well, they are all sold out and together, have back orders for thousands.

He didn't send a letter to Kentucky Gun Co. where I bought a semiautomatic rifle yesterday - they actually had one in stock.

I had already bought a 25 round magazine for it a few weeks ago and now there are none of those. I got that at a company in West Virginia and he didn't send them a letter.

I just ordered 150 rounds of Remington hollow points for the rifle from Cabela’s and that will send in a week or two. He did send them a letter but his letter didn't cover ammo.

I have wrecked his and Hussein's gun grab, magazine grab and likely ammo grab, when it comes to me.

Those little twits are just that - illiterate when it comes to guns - they get all shook up if it's black and looks scary - man, they are really dumb. They need to have another alcohol/fruit drink with a cherry on top and an umbrella in it and leave serious stuff to people who know what they are doing. They are such wimps.

Yep. I am not impressed with .223 weapons. I don’t own an automatic weapon of any kind. But mine are a bit larger in bore and can be used for more things than spraying the woods.

Bought new loading press, 3 new sets of dies, some more bullets and brass, primers, new powder scale, a new bullet mold and some other stuff. If this simply blows over, I can hunt and feed my family. If not, I am confident the State of Texas will organize the resistance here, will be glad to help.

The defiance is coming to these vermin.

“I don’t own an automatic weapon of any kind.”

But, they keep saying “semiautomatic” - they want all those gone so you can't fire a bullet every time you pull the trigger. They only want bolt action and barrel break rifles so you can only fire one bullet, then have to do something to load another bullet. I don't think they know the difference between semiautomatic and automatic, or they don't care, get the semiautomatic rifles banned then you can't turn them into automatic.

I think they will go after handguns after that to stop them from firing a bullet every time the trigger is pulled. Band any handgun like that, which is every one, I believe.

I think that the ATF is nervous, afraid that they are going to be broken up because of F&F and all the other mischief they have engaged in over the years.

In September of last year, they actually changed their website to “re-brand” themselves as the “Violent Crimes Bureau”, which would be a heck of a lot safer in protecting their “turf”.

They were made even more nervous in December, when Darrell Issa proposed integrating the ATF into the FBI. In practical terms, this would mean that the FBI gets their duties, and all the ATF agents get canned, because they are the “thug” branch, and very few of them could pass the FBI’s standards for things like accountancy, which is one of the FBI’s hiring discriminators. All agents are accountants.

One of the levers is an old .348 that typically shoots 350gr bullet at 2000 fps. Newer loads are a bit more aerodynamic 200gr Hornady FTX at a bit higher fps. Very high energy on impact. Effective 400 meters plus.
