I take Tumeric capsules - you can get great deals at vitacost.com.

There have been studies that show it can adversely effect melanoma. I've never heard that it helps eyesight, that's so interesting.

Basically what the article says is that the sicker you are, the more vitamin C you can take without getting the hershey squirts.

That is correct. You know when your body reaches it's limit -- it tells you quickly quickly :)

I have been taking large doses of VitC for over 12 years. I have severe lung issues and it restored my health.

On the rare occasions I start to have flu like symptoms I ramp up my dosage. On some occasions I have taken over 150,000mg in a 24 hour period.

Any way, you have to take vitC in powdered form for such high does.

Vitamin c is rich in oxalates and excreted in the urine. If you take large quantities the oxalates precipitate out as calcium oxalate, or one type of kidney stone. I would be careful with massive doses of anything.

Have the kidney stones hit yet?

Medical research has shown that large doses of vitC does not cause kidney stones. I have been taking 10-15Kmg/day (most days) for over 12 years.

I’d be curious to know if Vitamin C helped chronic fatigue or sleeping disorders.

I see the article is 1981. I’m guessing this report is coming out because some TV doctors are saying Vit.C is not effective. I have had anecdotal experiences where it has worked just fine.

"...but am generally interested in vitamin regimes."

Check out D3 when you get a chance.

People don't get enough sunshine. I think D3 is supposed to make up that deficiency.

One good idea...take your vitamin while outside! The best time to get sunshine is early in the morning. The closer you get to noon, the more difficult it is to tolerate.

So, go outside with your Yoga mat & your vitamin C & meditate & pray!

That should take care of it!

Thanks for the positive news on Vitamin C

Years past I did extensive research on vitC. The human body used to produce it's own vitC: 10-15k/day. When humans started getting external sources of vitC, the body production of vitC ramped to zero.

HA! I thought of the same!

The Dead Collector: Bring out yer dead. [a man puts a body on the cart]

Large Man with Dead Body: Here's one.

The Dead Collector: That'll be ninepence.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.

The Dead Collector: What?

Large Man with Dead Body: Nothing. There's your ninepence.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.

The Dead Collector: 'Ere, he says he's not dead.

Large Man with Dead Body: Yes he is.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not.

The Dead Collector: He isn't.

Large Man with Dead Body: Well, he will be soon, he's very ill.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm getting better.

Large Man with Dead Body: No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment.

The Dead Collector: Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I don't want to go on the cart.

Large Man with Dead Body: Oh, don't be such a baby.

The Dead Collector: I can't take him.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I feel fine.

Large Man with Dead Body: Oh, do me a favor.

The Dead Collector: I can't.

Large Man with Dead Body: Well, can you hang around for a couple of minutes? He won't be long.

The Dead Collector: I promised I'd be at the Robinsons'. They've lost nine today.

Large Man with Dead Body: Well, when's your next round?

The Dead Collector: Thursday.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I think I'll go for a walk.

Large Man with Dead Body: You're not fooling anyone, you know. Isn't there anything you could do?

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I feel happy. I feel happy.

[the Dead Collector glances up and down the street furtively, then silences the Body with his a whack of his club]

Large Man with Dead Body: Ah, thank you very much.

The Dead Collector: Not at all. See you on Thursday.

Large Man with Dead Body: Right.

Each time I took Vit C when a cold was starting, it turned into a very bad cold. I use Folic Acid for colds and mouth sores. works great.

"I always tell everyone Orange Juice is the universal cure-all

Lately TUMERIC has gotten my attention. I ate something heavily seasoned with tumeric and the next day I did not need my reading glasses... looking into taking it in capsule form- will report back later."

I take Turmeric 450 mg capsule once a day. One thing I noticed is that my finger and toe nails grow quickly and strongly.

The lady who cuts my hair said my hair seems much fuller - and that is before I mentioned the turmeric.

I hope the nails and hair doing this is not bad. Foods made with curry are good, too.

Last I heard of Turmeric is that it should be taken with black pepper.

Let's google and research this. Whoever finds the Black Pepper, as a precursor (I think that is the word they used - it was on radio) to turmeric posts first and posts specifically to each other and in general to all.

Deal? Deal!

Vitamin C is great stuff but balance is important also.

Vitamin C will Chelate the metals out of your system perhaps causing shortages of vital nutrients so I would compensate with some extra minerals at the mega-dose levels.

I would have to go down and look to see how many IU, but that’s in the personal regime already. I’m thinking it’s a 2000 IU pill.

I do not own a yoga mat. I do sometimes see some yoga pants when I’m out and about that I like quite well, but I don’t think the wife would approve me bringing them (and their contents) home. ;-P

Hi, Baynative:

What dosage do you take with Vitamin C.

Do you have 1 dosage level on a routine basis?

And a higher dosage for when you are ailing

I have had acute bronchitis since before Thanksgiving and I can't quite shake it.

I think it is what G. H. W. has only I haven't the high fever he has had. He got sick right after Thanksgiving.

Applying Aloe Juice to skin is very cooling and will clear up skin.

We need to share these type of cures.

OBAMACARE might cut out a lot of prescriptions we routinely rely on now.

Plus it is more natural to used the alternative cures if they work as good or better.

Some prescriptions might not be able to go the natural route.

Check with QUACKWATCH, if you are not sure about alternative meds - sometimes they thumbs up or down on the alternatives.
