Obama Is Boosting Biden's 2016 Prospects
Real Clear Politics ^ | January 14, 2013 | Richard Benedetto

In case you haven’t noticed, President Obama and his vaunted PR machine are orchestrating a full-court press to boost the presidential stock of his loyal vice president, Joe Biden.

It is not clear whether Biden will seek the Oval Office next time -- he will be 73 years old when 2016 rolls around. But just in case, the political foundation is carefully being laid and the public expectation is being buttressed by White House strategists, and dutifully documented by the media. “Biden stokes talk of presidential campaign in 2016,” said a headline in Sunday’s Washington Examiner.

Since the Obama-Biden re-election in November, the loquacious vice president has been all over the place, doing everything from the ceremonial (attending the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia) to the monumental: leading a high-profile presidential task force on gun violence that will make recommendations to Obama on Tuesday.

Thanks to the president putting him in charge, rather than someone such as the FBI director or a prominent jurist, the work of the task force -- a big deal since the Newtown, Conn., shootings last month -- has given the vice president a lot of face time on television. He met last week, amid much media hoopla and commentary, with groups such as the NRA, video-game executives and representatives of the entertainment industry.

So long as it means that he will be running for re-election in 2016, the sooner the better.

That’s great. The GOP can run a sock puppet full of puke and piss, and that sock will win against this imbecile.

This is quite hilarious. Which idiot wrote this?

First, Obama is never going to ‘retire into sunset’; secondly ventriloquist dummy Obama with his hands up dummy's dummy Biden’s butt is not going to convince voters.

What ‘interesting story’ has Biden got?

Great, trade a sockpuppet president with a hand up his backside for a guy who can’t keep his feet out of his mouth.
Brilliant!

Your premise is that we will have a free and fair election in 2016. That premise is incorrect. See: 2012 election.

Short of revolution or military intervention, we will continue our descent into the nightmare world that the eliminationist monsters in the White House are on the cusp of achieving.

This is a non-starter. Joe Biden has ACTUAL brain damage.

And he acts like it, too...

Don't be too sure - I think they've tried that tactic before. :)

Corruption in the electorate will be so ingrained by 2016 that Biden will be a walk in. His only threat is a serious contender in the Democratic primaries. Whichever Democrat wins the primaries and gets crowned during the convention will be our next president. It might even be Obama again. Rule of Law will mean nothing, and the Democrat majority in 2014 will fix it so Obama can run without limit. I’d rather have the court jester than the fool king, or the wicked witch.

How does that work? It takes more than Congress to amend the Constitution.

If 52% of those living in this country will vote for the Kenyan, TWICE, I don’t see Biden having any problems getting elected.

Don’t count on it. I have read the tea leaves and see dark days ahead. I pray that I am wrong but I don’t think so.

Basically the democrats can run whoever they like, it doesn’t really matter. They will win because a large enough percentage of the American population will vote for whomever has the D next to their name. This is our new reality.

Biden, Clinton, Julian Castro...it doesn’t matter who they put up.

First it was “Spread your legs, you’re going to get frisked” when being photographed with Sen. Heidi Heitkamp and her family. Then it was “Let me know if you need help with your pecs.”

The GOP has proven the only people they can defeat is their own. They’re so scared and incompetent to challenge any Democrat, even a weak one like Uncle Joe. The last election provede that.

I have a better chance of being in an orgy with Pamela Anderson and 2 playboy bunnies than Biden does if winning in 2016.

Ah, it’s not a Biden candidacy the scares me to death, it’s the GOP-e who will labor tirelessly to rig the Primary so that an even bigger GOP dunderhead get nominated... and loses.

It’s a smokescreen. Current “health problems” notwithstanding, Hillary will be the next dem nominee. And unfortunately there’s not a Repub in sight who will come close to defeating her.

I completely agree. This country has entered the age of one-party rule. The presidential election will be decided in the democrat primary. Republican opposition will be token, and seen as an opportunity for retiring senators to get a few months in the limelight as a gesture of appreciation for "decades of service to America." Hell, the GOP for the most part operates that way anyway.

".... The GOP can run a sock puppet full of puke and piss, and that sock will win against this imbecile."

.... Sadly .... that is what the GOP said about the current resident in the Oval Office. As you may recall ... That didn't turn out so well. In order to unseat the current party from leadership, The GOP will need to work together as something called a "Team."

... Apparently the Grand Old Party is flummoxed by that term which has apparently become anethema to them. We are definitely going to need more than a collective bunch of dysfunctional adorational popularity seekers to persuade the so called "Low Information" public to give up all of the socialized "Stuff" that the Prez is plundering this country to give them.
