PRESIDENT OBAMA: Well, I think, for example, how we are gathering data, for example, on guns that fall into the hands of criminals and how we track that more effectively -- there may be some steps that we can take administratively, as opposed -- through legislation.
As far as people lining up and purchasing more guns, you know, I think that we’ve seen for some time now that those who oppose any common-sense gun control or gun safety measures have a pretty effective way of ginning up fear on the part of gun owners that somehow the federal government’s about to take all your guns away. And you know, that -- there’s probably an economic element to that. It obviously is good for business.
But I think that, you know, those of us who look at this problem have repeatedly said that responsible gun owners, people who have a gun for protection, for hunting, for sportsmanship -- they don’t have anything to worry about. The issue here is not whether or not we believe in the Second Amendment.
The issue is, are there some sensible steps that we can take to make sure that somebody like the individual in Newtown can’t walk into a school and gun down a bunch of children in a -- in a shockingly rapid fashion? And surely we can do something about that.

How can anyone believe a word this LIAR says? Is there a promise he has kept, other than to change America. That is to change America into his version of socialism with he and his buddies as the haves and the rest of as the have nots.

Yeah, in 2008 when Obama was elected it was the NRA that prompted the run on guns. In 2012 upon reelection it was, again, the NRA that prompted the run on guns. After Sandy Hook and Obama stating that he was going to attempt to destroy the 2nd Amendment, it was the NRA that prompted the CRUSH on gun sales.
Anyone see a pattern here?
He keeps hitting those buzz words...”common sense” and “reasonable” with regard to gun controls. The schmedia keeps repeating it, and the meme becomes embedded in the livvies who listen at all. Those that don’t will get it from those slightly more dialed in livvies in the form of “lets be reasonable” arguments.
How does one argue truth with those who wouldn’t recognize truth if it hit them in the face?

In the press conference, Obama said some gun control measures “I can accomplish through executive action.”
What’s so pathetic is the way Obama tries to delegitimize the real concerns people, including gun owners, have regarding the direction of the country. To say that the rise of attendance at gun shows and the increase in the purchase of guns is due to “ginned up” fears is completely irresponsible and wrong.
People ARE concerned. And the NRA doesn’t have to say a word. Any time a liberal politician speaks about guns, gun sales go up. Barack Obama should be asked about that. Instead he’s given a free pass to blast gun-rights advocates while dismissing people’s concerns with partisan jabs.

In one breath he’s talking about how we’re unjustly afraid of the government taking our guns, and in the next he’s talking about by-passing Congress and issuing EOs to do “something” to limit “assault weapons.”
And the press/media don’t call him on that rank hypocrisy.
