Ordinarily, I’d say “Screw him - let it all burn.” However, somehow I think these two crybabies will do exactly as the pictures indicate.

Hey, McConnell, I’m gonna primary your buddy Saxby next year....even vote for the Democrat if I have to. I hope the same happens to you!

The big 0 said today:

But if they want to keep this responsibility, then they need to go ahead and get it done.

QUESTION: Thank you, sir. As you know, Senate Democrats --

Harry Reid sent you a letter begging you, essentially, to take -- consider some sort of executive action on this debt ceiling issue. I know you've said you're not negotiating on it. Your administration has ruled out the various ideas that have been out there, the 14th Amendment, but just this morning, House -- one of the House Democratic leaders, Jim Clyburn, asked you to use the 14th Amendment and even said sometimes that's what it takes. He brought up the Emancipation Proclamation as saying they took executive action when Congress wouldn't act, and he compared the debt ceiling to that. So are you considering a Plan B? And if not, why not?

OBAMA: Well, Chuck, the issue here is whether or not America pays its bills. We are not a deadbeat nation. And so there's a very simple solution to this: Congress authorizes us to pay our bills.

Now, if the House and the Senate want to give me the authority so that they don't have to take these tough votes, if they want to put the responsibility on me to raise the debt ceiling, I'm happy to take it. Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader in the Senate, had a proposal like that last year. And I'm happy to accept it.

But if they want to keep this responsibility, then they need to go ahead and get it done. And, you know, there are no magic tricks here. There are no loopholes. There are no, you know, easy outs. This is a matter of Congress authorizes spending. They order me to spend. They tell me, you need to fund our Defense Department at such- and-such a level, you need to send out Social Security checks, you need to make sure that you are paying to care for our veterans. They lay all this out for me, and -- because they have the spending power. And so I am required by law to go ahead and pay these bills.

This wont be pretty but the details of how the dance plays are unknown. I assume O will just turn up the heat.

I agree on McConnell, he said his #1 job was to make O a one termer and he failed at #1.

NO! You know as well as I do RINOs are just as bad as Democrats - worse sometimes. And believe it or not, there are some Democrats that have been, out there that were and still maybe are decent conservative people. Two Georgians I am proud to have been a constituent of are Zell Miller and Larry McDonald...... Chambliss and Isakson are nothing but power grubbing backstabbing fence sitting RINOS, period.

It is better to know 100% someone will frack you (a bad Democrat) than an untrustworthy RINO like them. Regardless, I’ve come to the conclusion our SENATE is lost, period. Even if they have Senators - they have no connection to the common man or woman in this country.

We have to depend on our House to stop anything Obama wants to do.

I think Obama is basically taking an absolutist stance and refusing to negotiate with Republicans as a response to the iron-willed John Boehner and his absolutist response to never negotiate, never compromise, never given in to anything a Democrat proposes.

And I think the media heard Obama take this hard stance and you could almost hear their sigh of relief -- "Finally!! Someone is going to stand up to those hard-nosed Republicans! Maybe now we start moving this country to the Left!!!"

You can't negotiate with a monster who is quite happy if the US in hurt so there is only capitulation or take the hit and don't raise the ceiling. The worst pain will not be because the debt ceiling isn't raised, but by Obama's deliberate management to make sure the most damage is done. So, yes, let it burn would be the better course of action. Otherwise, Obama owns the GOP and the country.

Oh just bark that up another tree.. You don’t know what you’re talking about. I didn’t vote for Obama the first time, nor the second.....it’s people like you that thinks anything with Republican on it is better than Democrat...I’m saying the names don’t matter. If you knew about McDonald or Miller, maybe you’d think differently.

Well boehner and company have already exposed themselves as weak negotiators. The only way pubs could win would be to hold fast, call obama’s bluff and see it thru. Obama would not expect that tactic.

Yep. Next time Obama holds a press conference it will be to announce that “your SNAP card did not get re-loaded, your Social Security checks did not go out, and none of the troops got paid...and it’s all Boehner’s fault!”
