Oh dear God...
what a false, emotional, mawkish article this is. Typical for journalists at the average american city newspaper.
Great story! I’m a bit upset reading about the widow’s plight, but at least she didn’t give the gun away to be destroyed by the “government”.
“They went with the tragic story about the man who turned in the evil gun his brother used to kill himself”
Wouldn’t this gun have been taken as evidence...and this guy would have had to actively try to get the gun back...fill out paperwork, drive down to the police station, etc...just to get the ‘tainted’ gun that he ceremoniously brought to the buyback. I’m not sure I believe it.
,,, let’s see here ,,,,,,,
A gun “buy back” would infer that the guns belonged to them in the begining . What bull !
Some women have absolutely no concept of how much a firearm is worth. One of my friends found a .32 auto pistol at a garage sale. The widow woman wanted what her husband paid for it back in 1940, $15.00.
So he got a high quality .32 for the price of three hamburgers.
Another widow sold her husband’s M1 Garand and other firearms to the local police for almost nothing. Lots of neighbors were mad about that as they felt the cops “took her to the cleaners”.
