I think we all understand your sarcasm, but like good sarcasm, it underlies the truth.
The bottom-line is that the people carrying that germ are MUCH MORE DANGEROUS than typical gun owners in New York State, and people really do need to protected from them.
Full blown, untreated gonorrhea is nothing to sneer at. It commonly causes sterility in women and men, and in males it causes pustules in the urethra, that often have to be busted in some pretty horrifying ways, to permit the flow of urine.

The average American male and female goes through about a dozen sexual partners over a lifetime (and that’s the average, with the latter generations easily topping 25 sexual partners before age 35). Fornication is not even looked at as the dangerous problem that it is, and for the fatal damage it has caused on the very idea of family, here. The statistics are about the same in a nearly homogenous manner across America.
There is no meaning to marriage when it’s de facto polygamy and prostitution on a such a massive societal scale, and all of this is considered as the new norm. People who choose to abstain from sex prior to marriage are viewed as freaks and outliers, and are socially ostracized. In such a social environment where people are used to more than one sexual partner, monogamy is difficult and meaningless. Marriages break down fast as a result, to a point that it isn’t worth the trouble it will eventually lead the participants to suffer. Marriage is reduced to a sham, in essence.

Given that the sexual practices of the people with this disease were not mentioned, I presume they are sodomites, given they are the immune-compromised population bent on giving the modern world incurable TB and other joys?

Mother nature always finds a way to cure the behavior of its miscreants.
Do not slight influenza, as it can be the thermonuclear bomb of diseases. In the 1980’s I interviewed elderly people who had been children in the time of the Spanish flu, and all of them had been so traumatized by the event they had created mental blocks against it.
Typically, most people encounter about 200 people they recognize in the course of a week, and one man estimated that some two dozen people he knew had died from it. His parents kept him indoors for most of a year.
Influenza is also very prone to mutation. In 2009, what had been a mild form of H1N1 flu (whose ancestor had been the Spanish flu), suddenly mutated into a deadly strain in Ukraine. Many doctors refused to believe that it was influenza, as it was a novel enough strain to result in the “cytokine storm” effect. The lungs of the dead often looked black, “as if they had been burned.”
But that flu is nothing compared to the potential of the H5N1 flu, if it somehow accomplishes just the five mutations it needs to become easily transmitted from person to person. It is by far deadlier than any known epidemic pulmonary pathogen, and has mysteriously maintained a 60% mortality rate of those infected, with treatment.
It is so novel that there is no limited immunity to it, and it has an extraordinary number of animal vectors, including those with very different immune systems, such as dogs and cats.
Original estimates of as many as one billion human fatalities from it are not unreasonable. And no one knows why it has not yet made the jump to H2H transmission yet.
Yes, this time the three estimated flu types were off, with one close to the actual type of flu, enough to provide limited immunity. But had it mutated to a stronger form, it could have saved many lives.
And if in future word gets out about an H5N1 avian flu outbreak on the other side of the world, if you get a vaccination that day, it might protect you just in time for the flu to transit the world.
If you do not, unless heaven intervenes, you have a strong chance of being killed.

I do not intend to get a flu shot either. I don’t have that crap in my system nor do I plan on putting it there, on PURPOSE.
