Obama couldn’t be less interested in what stupid things the House does. Obama has an agenda and he’s hell bent on making it happen. As far as I can see, Obama’s agenda is:

Make America weak.
Redistribute wealth, while enriching connected Democrats.
Make America weak.
Reduce the GOP to the status of the he man woman hater’s club.
Make America weak.

Impeachment means absolutely nothing. It takes the Senate to convict.

Read your Constitution. It is always the House, as was done by Clinton.

Clinton was neutered when he was impeached. He only recently is regaining any stature.

I believe O’s plan is to bring this nation to civil war. Governments are easily reconstructed once panic sets in and the masses who have not prepared for the fall will accept any form of government to get food back on the shelves. This is a George Soros specialty.

-- Won't go anywhere. Congress is afraid of the tyrant. --

Congress is afraid of accountability. As long as the president is taking action, Congress doesn't have to.

Congress is expert at pretending it is powerless, like on regulating the value of money, etc., and very much appreciates that issues of spending, regulating, and borrowing are done on the president's say so.

The US House of Representatives can IMPEACH (highly unlikely) by voting to impeach, but, the Articles of Impeachment then go to the Senate for a trial. No imagination necessary to assume the outcome here.

Unfortunately, the House *leader* - along with other Pub *leaders* - have not even come out with a statement condemning 0 & Co for their latest attack on our 2nd Amendment rights. McConnel's office said he's been too busy with his out of country travels to make a statement on this! Amazing!

If they (Bonehead, et al) will not even defend our Constitutional rights, what makes you think they'll bring about and follow through with impeachment?

You may remember from civics class that the purpose of executive orders is to implement the will of Congress and I don't remember Congress voting for gun control.
Using executive orders to deny us our Constitutional right is abuse of executive power. The American people should and could demand impeachment. It's out DUTY to defend ourselves from a rouge administration. (Where is our military when we really need it at home? )

The House of Representatives impeaches by simple majority vote. IOW, the current House has enough GOP votes to impeach.

However, the Senate conducts the trial for removal from office after the House impeaches. It requires a 2/3 vote, so that would be 67 Senators must vote to remove from office.

Given that Harry Reid and the Democrats are the majority party in the US Senate, there’s not a snowball’s chance of removing Obama.

I’d expect Obama’s response to someone filing Articles of Impeachment would be to declare it an illegal attempt to use the power of the House for harassment, and send someone from Justice to arrest the filer. Or some other similar legal-based action against the filer.

That would be the Alinsky way.

"I’d expect Obama’s response to someone filing Articles of Impeachment would be to declare it an illegal attempt to use the power of the House for harassment..."

I'll guarantee that Obama has his DOJ doing extensive back ground checks on every house republican. They will be looking for just enough people they could blackmail or rip apart in the media in order to control the vote.

If the house dared to even discuss the idea of impeachment, the Team Obama would start destroying them and once the issue is repelled the republican party would be neutered for the rest of his term and maybe hand him a third term.

Perhaps we should let Mr. Obama have some more rope, so to speak. As he imperially defies the Constitution on one matter after another, the best course of action may be to bide our time until he has essentially “hung himself” with enough evidence of malfeasance of office to successfully impeach him and, possibly, remove him from office.

The Senate will resist, but there may be ways to persuade or get around Senate loyalty to Obama. One third of the Senate will be up for election again in less than two years, and an aroused populace is powerful. Republicans/Conservatives need to take a page from the Democratic/Socialist playbook: go after each individual opposition Senator—tooth and nail. Use every bad, ugly, and questionable move they've ever made against them and their reelection. Out their sexual habits, mistresses, and under-the-table political contributions. Keep it honest and legal, but spare no feelings. Let's give them a taste of their own medicine and save our republic.

At some point in this process he will have amassed so much power that Congress and the Courts can no longer contain him. That’s a dangerous path to take.

U.N. approves new debate on arms treaty opposed by U.S. gun lobby (UN wants US gun control, and Hillary signed that treaty. Now Oboma has to deliver. )

Makes one wonder how convenient the Sandy Hook massacre was. Was it really just a gift from Allah, or was the shooter "nudged" a little into doing what he did?
It's strange how the entire incident is out of sight and out of mind, and now all eyes are simply on punishing those who had nothing to do with the crime.

yes, that is correct. he was indeed neutered. he had two more years (essentially) left in his second term, and he got very little done in those two years.

Also, only two presidents have ever been impeached, and the senate failed to remove in both cases. So, it is not just the modern day senates who failed to remove. It has NEVER happened.

The question is: would THIS House impeach him? they have enough votes, that is for sure, with a straight party-line vote.

Numerically, there are enough Republicans to do it. All that is required to impeach is a simple majority vote in the House. Of course there is no way to get a majority in the Senate, much less the 2/3 required to remove him.
