If President Obama and congressional Democrats are going to make headway on the gun violence proposals Vice President Joe Biden is set to deliver to the president on Tuesday, their strategy will probably look a lot like gun-owning Rep. Mike Thompson and move with the energy and purpose of political cage fighter Rahm Emanuel.
Representative Thompson (D) of California remembers where he was on Dec. 14, the day of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. He was in a duck blind, back home in his Napa Valley district.
Federal law prohibits me from having more than three shells in my shotgun, Thompson said Monday at the liberal Center for American Progress (CAP). So federal law provides more protection for the ducks than it does for people, he said, referring to ammunition magazines that can hold 30 or more bullets.
Thompson, chairman of a Democratic committee charged with making recommendations for new gun violence prevention measures (Democrats want no part of being pro-gun control), is emblematic of the central plank of Democrats strategic approach to gun control: put on a friendly face.
Both Thompson and Mr. Biden, the leader of the presidents own task force, are lifelong gun owners who are quick to point out that no, the federal government is absolutely not coming to seize your arms...

So federal law provides more protection for the ducks than it does for people, he said, referring to ammunition magazines that can hold 30 or more bullets. That statement by the distinguished gentleman from California might carry a little more weight if he can cite but one historical example of ducks forming a tyranny and subjugating men. Just one.

Memo to the Communist in the White House: The 2nd Amendment is not negotiable!
And just like the soulless, commie, POS that he is, he will use the innocent children for his crusade to the Holy Land of Gun Control. I would love to see a cartoon of “King Obama” sending the “Innocents” on a crusade just like the doomed children in the 12th century. I can't draw, but maybe someone will pick this up.

Do these ducks count? They have subjugated the PAC 12.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

They can "get to yes" any way they want...they can have a freakin' CIRCLE JERK while chanting "yes" if they want to. My answer is NO.

Both Thompson and Mr. Biden, the leader of the presidents own task force, are lifelong gun owners who are quick to point out that no, the federal government is absolutely not coming to seize your arms...It's always good to remember that the government tends to do the opposite of what they say.
In other words, they broadcast their intentions in the negative.

Law restricts you to 3 rounds for HUNTING...Depends upon what you are hunting. Here in Texas any non-game species (hogs, coyotes, any imported game, etc) can be hunted without restrictions of any kind.

The 1968 laws were not deemed onerous by most gun owners and have been followed without real contest.
When they criminalize possession of regular semi-automatics, the increase in illegal weapons will skyrocket. Why go to jail for dad’s old AR, when you can get the same sentence for a modern full-auto?

Federal law prohibits me from having more than three shells in my shotgun, Federal law prohibits people from disturbing a nest of an endangered bird. Which is more than it does for unborn human babies.

I think its the same here for non-game critters. Of course, the closest thing we get to a wild hog Washington state, is when a lesbian passes through town.
God Bless Texas.....

Yep, first Libya and Egypt, and Syria, then the US. Funny that he doesn’t seem to want to conquer Afghanistan.

“If they pass this it is going to be SOOOOOO much fun watching all the anguish and the Monday morning quarterbacking after they get their heads handed to them in the 14 midterms.”
That won't happen. Most of the conservative voters who are gun owners will have been MURDERED by the gov’t by then because they wouldn't register/turn in their firearms/magazines.
A terrible purge is coming and most of us won't live to see another election.

Good point. Kind of reminds me of the terrorists using children as cover when attacking people.

I believe the 3 shell limit is for migratory birds, dove, duck and geese, and there is no restriction for other game at least in most states. It is federal law.
