The Shotgun Fudds in Upstate are in for an unpleasant surprise.

I have to ask...
WHAT is a, "FUDD?"

Well, now that all in NY are safe, they can disband all police departments or if not, down size them, remove their weaponry and reduce their pensions more in line with that of teachers.

Well, there should now be absolutely no reason for any LEO agency in NY to have anything other than revolvers and low capacity rifles and shotguns. I mean, if all those scary guns are now regulated, there goes their argument that they need them to be equally armed, right?

What's that? The cops have no intention of giving up their firepower? But why, what is the threat that they need it all for?

Considering it is generally a lot cheaper to live in the South a 50% pay cut might not be as hard to take as you think. SC would also welcome you.

All you need to know about NY is that the urban areas over power the rest of the state. The RNC want to play nice nice with the dems and allows redistricting to squeeze out solid conservatives. One trip to NYC and you know this state is lost. There is nothing left to fight for. The dems crush liberty and the GOP caves at the slightest pressure. The state government is corrupt. They consistently legislate against the people. They all hide behind their walls of safety.

I think the latest Cuomo move will end up with a lesson in the law of unintended consequences. I am not sure what it is but I can be safe in saying it will not be the safe place he claims he is making. As for me, I am working to jump ship. Think of it as a personal scuttling of the state. This place is making me physically ill.

Mu guess was "Elmer Fudd", you know, the hunters that refuse to line up with other firearm owners because they believe their hunting guns are not threatened. Many of them are just as anti-AR and high capacity sidearms as most liberals. "Who needs that stuff?"

We had some dork hunter here that ranted against funding a new shooting range because hunters did not need it to practice marksmanship. Not kidding.

Upstate NY is famous for hunting. It's often advertised in hunting magazines.
Who's going to want to go to NY now? There goes their hunting license revenue.

Teach your kids to stay out of liberal states. They'll find they've made a huge mistake going into one once they're adults. This is a very important lesson to teach them.
Right now, because of the housing crash, we're stuck in upstate. The property isn't worth what we invested in it at this time (though we're considering downsizing and heading out anyway when our youngest son finds a job of his own).
We've taught our children not to stay in the state. The Penn. border isn't that far away. We've told them to go there when they're ready to settle down.

I am sorry for New Yorkers that believe in a less centralized government, the 2nd Amendment, and freedom. New York has just become worse than New Jersey with respect to gun rights. I benefited from the Australian gun ban and the Canadian registration scheme, I was able to purchase some real nice weapons that belonged to people that lived there and had to sell their weapons or turn them in. Maybe Cuomo just helped weapon collectors in the SE United States.

In an acknowledgment that many people have suggested that part of the solution to gun violence is a better government response to mental illness, the legislation includes not only new restrictions on gun ownership, but also efforts to limit access to guns by mentally ill people.

This is a creeping dog we should all be aware of.

Sadly, I see some here falling for this as an answer to get the Government off of THEIR backs.

Who decides, Government appointed psychologists who have political agendas? What are the definitions and parameters?

Take their right, don't touch mine?

I don't understand why New Yorkers are sitting around eating this crap sandwich.

For the same reason they have homosexual pseudo marriages. It was forced upon them against their will. This is what happens when leftists rule.

NYC has so many flaming commies, the place is like a huge rats nest. Upstate tried to separate from the state because it had no say, and it almost worked, until the Jewish in NYC wanted their own state because of their religious beliefs.
Personally, I believe the Jewish did that to defeat the proposal, because NYC Jews vote democrat. NYC welfare needs our money.

Series indeed! Unless these laws are challenged in court as being unconstitutional and ruled as such, they will remain in force. As we have found out on Obamacare and AZ 1070, SCOTUS is not the guardian of our Constitution. They are destroying it.

So when the next whack job that wants to do damage can’t find a gun, he will make a bomb. Mark my words, in the next few years there will be a bombing of a school or a busy place. In schools today there are plenty of bomb threats. They are all false. Some day there will be know warning because real bombers just quietly place the bomb and BOOM.

We live in a sick world where the innocent are punished, the criminals get left alone and our leaders become tyrants.

Those four cops that shot Amadou Diallo in the Bronx fired 44 shots. 44 shots at one unarmed guy. An back in 72 two NYPD street cops broke up a bank robbery by revolutionary types armed with M16s stolen from a NG Armory in Rockland County. Both cops were wounded. They fired 18 rounds at the robbers and had 12 hits. Both bad guys went down. Cops used to be trained but now, even with the “9”s and the fancy dan shooting ranges with the bells and whistles cops are putting too much lead in the air. So in answer to your question, make them go back to six round 38s with the four inch barrel.

I am now officially a criminal

My condolences. So in general, what's your perspective on what is going to happen now? Will NYer's (gun owners) capitulate & register all their fire arms, knowing if they don't they could face hefty fines or perhaps jail sentences?

How dooes the socialist-fascist NY State expect to enforce or verify that guns are registered?

Are the NRA & other gun lobby groups filing lawsuits?

This is a travesty & atrocity that is being committed by the STATE against lawful gun owners, with no downside whatsover to the wackos, criminals & deranged liberals!

Is it time for all conservative, patriotic Americans to lock & load?

Plus the fact that they 'worked' all this out in closed door meetings out of public view before going through the motions of a vote. All of their actions de-legitimizes what they did. They railroaded that bunch of nonsense through and there needs to be a fury of legal challenges to gum up their works.

Well I think a big problem was going to 9mm for hi capacity, I believe more forces are thinking about going back to 45’s for stopping power. A 9mm makes nice pretty holes but a 45 puts your A** down!Kind of like why the military change from .38 to .45 “The most vociferous complaints concerned the revolver’s cartridge chambering. Beginning in 1899, combat reports arose from the Philippines campaign regarding the poor performance of the M1892’s .38-caliber ammunition. Specifically, users complained that the .38 bullet repeatedly failed to stop charging enemy tribesmen at close ranges, even when hit multiple times.[4] The complaints caused the U.S. Army to hurriedly issue stocks of .45 caliber revolvers, and played a central role in its decision to replace the M1892 with the .45 Colt M1909 New Service revolver in 1909” From Wikipedia.

I wonder when the governor plans his next public appearance.
I would like to see how the general public reacts.
Applause,rotten fruit,or worse.

It won't make one iota of difference to the RAT bastard commie pig Cuomo! He will be protected by rows of heavily armed local police & state troopers. If there is even as much as a peep of outburst, you can bet 10 beefy, overweight union cops will pounce on that person and beat the shit out of him (or her) right there in front of everybody. And then that person will be facing prison time for "threatening the governor" or some contrived felony offense.

It seems like NY will be the test case for 0dumb0 & other states, to see how far & fast they can push their 2nd Amendment abuses & final destruction of our Constitution.

Will this result in our Lexington/Concord defining moment?

Nelson "Pete" Shields is probably laughing in his grave. What he wanted is coming to pass in NY.

Nelson T. 'Pete' Shields

Founder of Handgun Control, Inc.

"I'm convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We're going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily — given the political realities — going to be very modest. Of course, it's true that politicians will then go home and say, 'This is a great law. The problem is solved.' And it's also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.

So then we'll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again.< font color = red> Right now, though, we'd be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal — total control of handguns in the United States — is going to take time. My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country.

The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition — except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors — totally illegal."

-Pete Shields, Chairman and founder, Handgun Control Inc., "A Reporter At Large: Handguns," The New Yorker, July 26, 1976, 57-58

Did anyone really think their "two Military items" or 10 round limit would really be permanent?

Come to Texas. I escaped the Rotten Apple in 1996. It's beautiful down here. Salaries are on par with the rest of the country, but the cost of living and no state income tax make your dollars stretch a lot farther.

It wasn't easy; I was leaving everyone I knew, my family, my friends, all those familiar places from my youth. Looking back, it was the BEST decision my husband and I made.

Escape...while you still can!
