Revealed: Obama's likely executive orders on guns

Group with enormous influence on White House issues specific plans

A progressive group with enormous influence on White House policy has issued specific recommendations to the Obama administration on how to push sweeping gun control, including suggestions for executive orders.

The Center for American Progress released an 11-page proposal, reviewed by WND, calling for a full ban on the sale of assault weapons and magazines with a capacity for more than 10 bullets. CAP suggests legislation to require licensing and transfer restrictions on new and existing assault rifles.

The CAP paper, delivered to the White House last week, recommends that Obama issue executive orders requiring all states to collect more data on prospective gun owners for inclusion in a nationwide database.

Such a presidential edict would withhold funding to any state that does not provide the federal government with the names of all the individuals who are prohibited from owning firearms, including those barred from purchasing guns due to mental illness.

The executive action specifically would penalize states that fail to provide records to the National Instant Criminal Background System, or NICS, which is a point-of-sale system for determining eligibility to purchase a firearm.

Having a database for law abiding citizens seems to be an overreach by this government to our privacy rights; like the drones in Florida.

The government purchasing and stock piling ammunition. What's up with that. What happens when a hacker intrudes the info on these law abiding citizens from this database. People could be killed/those under protection etc.

The NICS is controversial because it receives telephone calls from mental health institutions, psychiatrists and family members who can request the placement of individuals in the NICS index.

Did you see this too, Mesta?

These damn socialists always want to punish the worker, the guy who gets up and does his/her job and doesn't break the law. Now, they are treated as a criminal because they have a gun. If you break the law, you are arrested. Go into court. If you are found guilty of a serious crime, you lose your right to own a firearm. Everything they touch causes more harm and loss of our freedom.

In addition to local, state, tribal, and federal agencies voluntarily contributing information to the NICS Index, the NICS Section receives telephone calls from mental health institutions, psychiatrists, police departments, and family members requesting placement of individuals into the NICS Index. Frequently, these are emergency situations and require immediate attention. Any documentation justifying a valid entry into the NICS Index must be available to the originating agencies.

It's about time we called a Spade, a Nazi.

I guess Dictator, Pharaoh or Tyrant would work as well, but I was reminded a few days ago that Adolph Hitler loved little Aryan Children and Puppies.

Now that Obama will be hiding behind Children at his Proclamation tomorrow, Hitler seems like the best comparison. It appears we are reaching an Inglorious Bastards moment, but we won't be slinging Baseball Bats when the Jack Booted Obama Thugs knock down our doors looking for our Evil “Defense” Rifles.

The only ones with the “Assault” Rifles will the ones robbing us of our God Given Rights to Self Defense and Protection from a Tyrannical Government.

If they can manage such a massive database, how about one to keep track of voter fraud? Or a database of every woman who has ever had an abortion (to track breast cancer risk, of course). [/sarc]

And even at the end of the day, in their Berlin bunker:

a) Hitler poisoned and killed his beloved dog "Blondi".

b) Mrs. Goebbels poisoned each and everyone of her children, something like 8 kids in total.

Shows you how dictatorial tyrants will use dogs and kids to get their point across or for whatever propaganda purposes, and then on the other hand, will kill them on the drop of a pfenning, with the snap of a finger.

Um, actually that would be internal passports.
Can’t have people traveling from state to state at will.

Funny how all these things are things instituted
in the Soviet sphere...

I think some states have their own database, alongside the national one.

But in either case, the database has names of those NOT ALLOWED to own guns.

Its a list against which that lanza guy wouldve been checked.

Indeed when he tried to buy something HE WAS DENIED.

If you think that only criminals’ names will be in the added records gathering they propose, there is this bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in...although you probably wouldn’t want to live there after yesterday.

From the article:
“The NICS is controversial because it receives telephone calls from mental health institutions, psychiatrists and family members who can request the placement of individuals in the NICS index. Those individuals can then be barred from purchasing a weapon if the NICS is satisfied with the complaint, usually requiring supporting documentation”

That is the operative phrase “needs supporting documentation”

I highly doubt an individual can call and on that ONE call alone have someone put on the list.

MestaMachine,
I cannot from the article figure what new thing they are trying to implement that doesn’t already exist.

Like I said in my other post, i think some states have their own database similar to NICS, where those NOT allowed are listed.

Its not a list of those who ARE allowed.

Is it those states that have a separate list which are complaining about having to send this info in to the FBI’s database?

Was this in the wnd article or someplace else; if elsewhere where did you find it?
