Petition: Eliminate armed guards for the President, Vice-President, and their families...
Petitions.WhiteHouse.gov ^

Posted on 01/16/2013 5:49:35 AM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

WhiteHouse.gov blinked.

The petition has 22,717 signatures and was going to make 25,000.

Now they have changed the threshold to 100,000.

They could feel that heat.

This petition implements RULES FOR RADICALS #5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon" against Obama.

If gun-free zones make people safe, then why don’t we declare the immediate vicinity of the President and Vice-President to be gun-free zones and send the Secret Service home? Or are gun-free zones good enough for our kids, but not good enough for our overlords? It is the height of arrogance and hypocrisy for politicians to surround themselves with armed guards while insisting that our children be soft targets.

There are 8 more days to get the required number of signatures on the petition

The petition illustrates the absurdity of gun-free zones.

Rush always talks about of illustrating absurdity by being absurd, and that's all this is.

The Alinskyites are killing us with Rules for Radicals #12, right now:

RULE #12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

How do we fight back?

By being nice?

And "holding ourselves to a higher standard" is just the flip side of Rule 4:

RULE #4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

From the linked article, it states “This new threshold applies only to petitions created from this point forward and is not retroactively applied to ones that already exist.” (ie, from 1/15/13)

Alinsky still applies here with making the point using their rules, and the 25,000 to boot.

This petition needs 400 sigs per day for the next week, and has been garnering about 1000 per day for the last few days.

Let’s get it up over the top ASAP! We should mention it everywhere and often!

One failure of us using the Alinsky tactic of “make your enemy live up to his standards”

is that the left is perfectly fine with a double standard for their elites vs the “commoners”.

The real purpose, IMHO, of this petition perhaps is more of a rallying cry than any dribble that the regime will say once the 25k arbitrary limit is passed.

I have been sending daily updates to Drudge through his website. My hope is that he will link to it when it reaches 25,000. That would make it go ballistic.

I would much rather see a new federal law that prohibits any government agency - Federal, State, or Local - , the Military, the Secret Service, any private security agency, any elected official, from owning, carrying, or using inside the boundaries of the United States or its territories, any weapon or ammunition not permitted for use by the general public. Better yet a Constitutional Amendment for this.

Am betting commercials are being prepared. The first commercial hit home, and portrayed the lunacy of the left quite well.

At this point in time, I would settle for the immediate removal from office, by any means necessary, of any governor of any state who bows to any Executive Order on gun control.

Sounds like a great plan... indeed, most meaningful to reach 25k completely before hitting Drudge, and then Drudge posting where it ramps up quickly beyond that for the last few days.

Therefore, the quicker it gets to 25k, the more time it might have, if he puts it up, on Drudge.

It’s like someone just attached a helium balloon to this petition.

It’s doing about 170 signatures per hour today, with 1300 to go, this can wrap-up sometime Thursday. With 5 days after that to go, this will be able to be presented to the whitehut with a pile of whipped cream, a GLOB of fudge, and a cherry on top.

I made a screen-grab of the petition a few minutes ago in case it “disappears.”

This petition is gonna break 25k sometime before midnight (eastern time). 290 to go, and it’s getting about 170 per hour.

Quite a day for sigs today... over 2200.
