That's why you NEVER want to tempt fate by holding a Constitutional Convention with the current level of civic education in this country.

2nd Amendment would be gone. 1st. Amendment would be totally crippled with exceptions for politically incorrect "hate speech". New Amendments guaranteeing a Right to a house, income, health care and free college education would be inserted in their place.

Sorry, I wish I were as optimistic. We are no longer a Constitutional Republic. We are not quite Chavez yet, in between the twilight zone.

The Constitution works only if/when all parties and governments agree to its execution. The way DC’s operating it’s just a piece of paper, we had lost even without going through a majority vote.
