Trayvon Martin's mother is going to join Florida lawmakers to announce a bill that would repeal the state's Stand Your Ground Law.

The announcement is scheduled to happen at 11:30 a.m. in Tallahassee. The bill, HB 4009, was filed on Jan. 9, 2013.

Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon's mom, will be there along with the Martin family attorneys.

George Zimmerman, the man accused of killing Trayvon Martin, has used the Stand Your Ground Law as his defense in the shooting.

Absolutely DISGUSTING! Disgusting media spectacle, and a disgusting media whore of a mother in Mrs. Martin.

Obviously, the public servants are trying to make all of us victims of the Trayvon Martins of the world.

The is about lawyers being able to sue people who defend themselves.

Stand your ground did away with that tort.

Stand your ground IS tort reform.

It seems that Florida HB4009 sets up a LEGAL OBLIGATION that you allow yourself to be beaten to death without any attempt at self-defense.

Without the right of self defence, George Zimmerman would be 6 feet underground right now.

It's a sad day in America when innocent, law abiding citizens become less valuable than the crimminals(D) who try to kill them.

And what slays me is that Zimmerman EASILY met that burden!

He was quite bloodied.

The bill is a publicity stunt. If Zimmerman were dead would there be calls for a Shoot First, Ask Questions Later bill?

He was quite bloodied.

The thug was trying to crack his skull.
These politicians want to make the victim a criminal if he tries to ....survive.

I emailed my senator, Jack Latvala, anyway. I want Tallahassee to know that those of us out here in the real world treasure our right to self-defense and wish to exercise it free from legal constraints to defend ourselves or our families from harm.

Hardly.

The ambulance chasing Trial Lawyers want their cash cow back.

Before "Stand Your Ground," ANY injury to a thug by a responsible defender was an automatic payday.

The simple fact of the thug being injured made the defender civilly liable.

Libs are always more concerned with the fate of perps than regular folks.
Of course they *claim* to care about innocent bystanders and children but I don't buy it.
Their aim is to outlaw private gun ownership across the board, piece by little piece, by whatever excuse they can come up with.

Completely agree, sir!

I was a poll watcher during the election, and I noticed a comical if not frightening trend:

Liberals were coming to the polls and were taking less than a minute to do their ballots. Our ballots were 2 pages!

I happened to notice one Liberal’s ballot when they had issues with the scan machine: they ONLY voted for the President. No state or local offices, JUST Obama.

We understand that all politics are local. In this case, Florida is still a Republican state as a result. Let’s pray they stay this stupid.

Let’s hope so. Our latest generation of “conservative” politicians cave at the first sign of an emotional appeal. There will be children and crying women present. I’m not sure our elected representatives can take it.

They had a production budget of $15 million. Pennsylvania gave them $4 million in tax credits.

So it looks like they have lost $4 million on this POS.

The Other Side gets unlimited bites at the apple. Our side is too “polite” (i.e. balless) to try for anything more than once.

Bill submitted by Alvin Williams who represents a largely Black, rural section of Florida. Guess he is trying to disarm his law-abiding constituents.

She actually thinks it will pass here in FL.

Her and the other race baiting pimps need to understand we have guns because of people like her son who have not been brought up correctly.

never going to pass in this state and if any republican thinks of voting for this then they are good night for them.

Nearly everyone I know has a gun or two or 3 except the few mothers who have recently moved here from their liberal socialist yankee cess pit of a state.

They are the few who harp on outsdie at school how smart they are and yet they have never worked but their huby does, they are the ones who sit around doing the gossip and thinking of more rules to make us look like the socialsit crap state they left.

They are the ones I love to get involved with and say something to them

Well at least she is as dumb as she looks. By the time she gets to the podium, OBAMA will be at his podium shredding the 2nd Amendment. NO ONE will even cover her statement or questions.
