Knowing that any huge gun bill is doomed in Congress, and aware that he needs to show America how eager he is to Do Something, The One lurches towards plan B — i.e. including Wayne LaPierre’s proposal for more federally-funded security in schools as part of his package of recommendations on reducing gun violence:

The left mocked this idea after LaPierre’s presser last month because more school security guards does nothing to achieve their goal of reducing gun ownership among the population. (I’m keen myself to hear from Obama and the NRA what other spending we should cut to pay for this.) But it polls well with the public: According to Pew, more Americans favor this than banning assault weapons or high-capacity magazines. If you’re O, why not toss it out there and see how Republicans react? Incorporating an NRA suggestion will make the Democratic bill look that much more “reasonable” and bipartisan. Now the ball’s in the GOP’s court to either pass something along these lines, which gives Obama a limited political victory, or torpedo it and endure the inevitable “Republicans won’t even listen to Wayne LaPierre on gun violence” news stories.

That's an excellent idea. Each school district can take care of it's own. There's no need for the fed to get involved at all. The ex-military personal are already members of the community.
On the federal level, the cost of security would sky rocket because of all the middle men. On a local level, the funds would go directly to the soldier. There would be no massive government waste.
Kids have no idea whats going on. They were told to write those letters. In fact, the parents probably told them what to write.
My guess is the "parents" are a huge Oboma supporters and anti-gun activists.
This whole "kids" thing is such a farce. Anyone who can't see through this one is an idiot.
If Oboma really cared so much for children, he wouldn't have referred to them as a "punishment" during the abortion debate!!!

Just wait. One of these guards will “unexpectedly” go over the edge and murder a bunch of kids and/or parents. And then, “Oh my! We told you it was those guns! We MUST ban guns because there is no other option!”
When you only care about control/domination and not people, there is no limit to the theater that can be staged for public consumption.
Kierstin Powers mocked and laughed at NRA’s Wayne LaPierre on the Fox News Panel when he proposed this. I wonder if she’ll be so childish tonight?
