Fox Nation ^ | Jan 16 | Staff

Posted on 01/16/2013 9:16:55 AM PST by JesseWatters

The following is a list, provided by the White House, of executive actions President Obama plans to take to address gun violence.

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

Luckily none of those 23 would have any effect on me or my guns, except #13 which is sort of vague.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

This is VERY troubling. I can fully envision a pediatrician asking a mother if there are guns in the home during a regular visit. The pediatrician is forced to ask the question if he wants to get paid through Obamacare. The pediatrician also has noted the child has ADHD. The government then takes guns out of the home because the child has a mental illness.

We all know the incidences of ADHD are on the rise. Could it be Obama and the libs have found their confiscation 'trigger'?

My doctor asks all the time, no problem. I tell him about the latest purchases, and tell him about my reloading, what hunting I’ve done..

Oh wait, that’s when we’re sitting at the bar drinking bourbon, and he’s telling me about his new ones too. .
In his office, he never asks.

"If a doctor asked me that question, I wouldn’t answer and would never visit that doctor again."

And the Doc may very will put you down as a gun owner or "refused to answer" (same thing) on a federal medical database. Better to just say "no" (yes, lie) and never come back.

See how smart Obama is? He’s already got you mad at your doctor and your doctor probably packs.

The threat of impeachment will do that to an impostor who illegally reside in the people’s house. Guess he can’t afford that confrontation, or risk being outed as a forger and fraud.

“No legislative act, therefore, contrary to the Constitution, can be valid. To deny this, would be to affirm, that the deputy is greater than his principal; that the servant is above his master; that the representatives of the people are superior to the people themselves; that men acting by virtue of powers, may do not only what their powers do not authorize, but what they forbid. ... “

Republicans still control the House, right? They have oversight over agencies and their funding, right?

Lesson #1: No agency ever has enforced oversight and funding will never be cut. Not by anyone. Never. If that ws possible, the ATF would have defanged and defunded in 1994 after buring all of those kids to death in Waco. Any poltician who promises to defund a government agency is lying to you.

In 41 years I have never had a VA doc ask me if I own a gun.

You sound like a buffoon.

You're saying that because I want to use the Abortion lobby's tactics against them?

How much has abortion been reduced by the 'safe, legal and rare' mantra? How much have abortion rights been curtailed?

Think about it. You use the tagline, but you push for what you really want. After a decade or so, you drop 'rare.'

Can’t argue with that, but the authority is there.

Will #2 allow them to require a database of individuals on any medication that they consider to be incompatible with gun ownership?

There are a few in here that are potentially problematic:

"Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes"
This one could be used in pretty evil ways, ways in which you could no longer sell a semi-auto rifle that would function as we know it today.

"Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime"
What the hell is that? That's worse than the "disorderly conduct" catch-all

"Propose rule-making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun"
So if you get pulled over speeding while carrying... this is also ripe for abuse

This sonofabitch has to go.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

Maybe creating new groups of people that are not allowed to own or purchase guns?

Go to a doctor and say your stressed out or dealing with anxiety? Maybe that will put you into a new group disqualified from having a gun. Post a rant on the Internet? Categorizes you as having anger issues. No guns for you!

Hippa(crit) has allowed for years that a doctor has to inform the authority of certain things. In MI and PA (that I know of) doctor can tell DMV if their patient admits to heavy alcohol drinking.. And DMV can revoke license.

It’s mostly a bunch of B.S.

I didn't get anything out of the listed actions myself.

On the other hand, let's not overlook that the WH and media are always trying to make Obama look like a king.

He cut Sibelius into the loop but she, like Biden, is the very kind of brain damaged or mentally ill person we should be working to lock up.

That really doesn't make any sense on his part unless he's got some problem of his own.

Actual quotes:
Along with our freedom to live our lives as we will comes an obligation to allow others to do the same. We don’t live in isolation. We live in a society, a government for and by the people. We are responsible for each other. We have the right to worship freely and safely; that right was denied to Sikhs in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The right to assemble peacefully; that right was denied shoppers in Placimus (ph), Oregon, and moviegoers in Aurora, Colorado.

That most fundamental set of rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, fundamental rights that were denied to college students at Virginia Tech and high school students at Columbine and elementary school students in Newtown; and kids on street corners in Chicago on too frequent basis to tolerate; and all the families who never imagined they’d lose a loved one to -- to a bullet, those rights are at stake. We’re responsible.

Wow! I know Obama is bad but to not understand rights, the Constitution, and the restrictions on the government is beyond belief even for him.

I won't hold my breath waiting for anyone in the press to hold him accountable either.
