Reaction to Reed Exhibitions' announcement Tuesday to ban so-called assault rifles and high-capacity ammunition magazines from the upcoming Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg has been swift.

Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown announced Wednesday that it is pulling out of the show scheduled for Feb. 2-10 at the State Farm Show Complex.

I have been going to the Eastern Outdoors show for years along with hundreds of thousands of others. This is not a low volume show. It lasts for 8 days and it is packed with outdoorsmen.

I will not be going to the show this year.

For those that are not familiar with the show, it is not a gun show, but it does include guns since shooting is mostly an outdoors activity. I hope that enough pressure will be put on the promoter to lift the ban on tactical weapons.

Considering that gun dealers are about sold out of stock and having trouble resupplying, I wouldn’t think they really need to spend money to participate in an Outdoors show to boost sales.

To boycott a Gun Show is to Boycott the U.S. Constitution

The gun show has decided to boycott the Second Amendment. Why would you not boycott it in turn?

All hunters should boycott this show and others that sell out to the gun-grabbers in D. C.

Reed Exhibitions also does SHOTShow for the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Are they gonna ban certain weapons from SHOTShow in Vegas next year?

Remember the law of unintended consequences...should a boycott prove successful, the MSM will announce that attendance was down X percent (where Y was the real decline percentage, which was multiplied by 2 for effect and then announced as X - and we’ll neglect the math error made by the MSM droogs who had to actually multiply two numbers).

To boycott a Gun Show is to Boycott the U.S. Constitution.

So you wouldn't boycott a gun show that decided not to display/sell legal weapons based on the weapon's appearance out of sensitivity to liberals? That is the case here.

I do not see this as a boycott of the constitution, I see this a method to uphold the constitution. It hurts the liberals (in their pocket books) that want to relinquish our God given 2nd Amendment rights.

Saying or doing nothing sends a clear message that it ok ban weapons based on arbitrary cosmetics. If I went to the show, I would basically saying, I don't care.

To boycott a Gun Show is to Boycott the U.S. Constitution

Nothing personal but that is a pretty silly comment. For one thing boyotting a outdoors/gun show has nothing to do with the U.S. Constitution. As far as the gun show itself goes, the organizers themselves are actively creating a ban on assault weapon style rifles. If the people who don't want these type of weapons banned choose not to attend, more power to them. Let the law of economics punish the lefty's who will then profit less from the show.

The MSM will make up any figures that suits their agenda anyway. I need to live with myself. I will not spend my money on the a show run by liberals.

Of course it has everything, Sir, to do with the U.S. Constitution: It means intent against the Second Amendment- and intent and motive can be provable in any court of law,
Webster:
To bear arms:
Actually it means more than that:
1887 Webster`s Dictionary:
“to bear, bear v.t., “
“1. to support and move; or carry
2. To be equipped, furnished, or marked with;
to have as belonging, distinguishing, identifying, or characterizing; as to bear a sword, an inscription,, a title, a good reputation or an evil look,
7. To be directed; to be pointed; as, to plant guns to bear upon a trench”

[means to carry across state lines as my ancestors brought their own arms to Bunker Hill 1775 and to the Battle of Saratoga 1777 from Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire
[means to carry weapons to anywhere, even a gunshow, all kinds of weapons -period-

cf Alameda County CA vs GunShows - Alameda County lost that decision -
can we get the names and addresses of all the boycotters and publish them please

Move all the gun shows to states where they WILL be welcome. Avoid spending ANY money in their liberal states when/if you can avoid it. Hit them in what ever way you can financially. Hopefully they will wake up and find that all this attack on guns will backfire on them. There are consequences.

Have missed the Spring & Fall/Winter show @ the farm Complex about 5 times since 1999.

Will avoid them this year.

Hope Lancaster, York, and Greencastle still believe in freedom...

A few million people calling Walmart headquarters in Benton, Ark caused them to rescind their decision on stopping the sale of ammo. They did issue the statement but then backtracked as if it were a misspeak. Just the threat of a boycott by their “base” snatched a knot in their arse. I wish the republican party would respond in the same way. They seem to only care about their power and personal wealth. I think the gop/e likes the dims better than they do us in the base.
